I agree that there is natural chemistry between Chace/Blake and I feel it comes from them being great friends off-set. I've always felt that actual romantic interest actually kills chemistry on a show, because then feelings get confused and you lose sight of your character's motives (I'm not going to name any names, but I can come up with a LOT of examples on many shows). And I definitely see that Ed/Leighton's chemistry could be more 'crafted' (especially because Ed is a stage actor), while Chace/Blake kind of work with the bond they already have.

I agree with this. I think for Chace/Blake it works because they aren't actually romantically involved

It would be hard for many RL couples to maintain over the long term the type of "tension" required, I think, for on-screen chemistry. It takes a superb level of boundary marking.

This reminds of N/V--I think I liked them on-screen because Chace/Jess are also friends in RL. I think her RL boyfriend actually works on GG! Jess talked about their on-screen kiss recently and said unlike kissing an actor she didn't know, she found she was actually nervous/found it strange because she IS friends with Chace. IMO, that probably added alot to the "first kiss on the doorstep" aspect of that scene, which I found very, very sweet. She was funny because then she added at the end, "I don't know if I can do this? who am I kidding....it's Chace!"

Haha, I just read it now, and I agree. I really liked Jess/Chace's chemistry and it was clear they liked and respected each other in real life. And that is an adorkable way to effortlessly make the kiss awkward

It is SO weird kissing your friends onscreen/stage.

I was once in a play with my ex-boyfriend and we had a kissing scene. Soooo awkward. Thankfully, the kiss was supposed to be awkward, so it all worked out.

i LOVE NS & CB chemistry, i feel them soo different...

i see CB and it's just so, ahhh i can never explain what i feel with them, i love, love/hate relationships, i LOVE their bickering, and their sweet moments are always so mind blowing

and then i have NS which i feel could be the "happy" couple, i don't know how to explain that either, but Blake & Chace are just so bubbly and happy, and they just make me smile

NV i liked, i didn't love it, yes Nate showed a better side of himself, but i'm pretty positive he can be like that with Serena too...

NJ i like ONLY as friends, i like how he sees her as a sister he never had, how he protects her...

and i honestly liked NB(please don't shoot me) but i know not many agree with me on this

I truly believe NV worked as a stepping stone to NS because it showed us that his kind of uncool actions in the NB relationship were due to the situation, not to him as a person. So that way. the "Look what he did to Blair, Serena deserves better" argument begins to fall flat, because we have seen that he can be a GREAT bf. In those three episodes they dated, lol, I think Nate was the best boyfriend out of all the boys.

And NJ was good in that it showed Nate caring and being brotherly, further cementing his status as the All-American good guy and eroding his previous image as the cheating hobag, lol.

I know what you mean, Kary. But the promos, combined with Josh and Chace's interviews, and Penn's statement that his final scene set up his story for next season... all of that makes me think our NS love will be fulfilled.

He just said that the final scene with Vanessa sets up one of his story lines for next season, hinting there might be romance there. Meanwhile, Jessica said that "Dan starts to see me in a new light." So I'm thinking definite DV in the future.

...Let's just say, one night he got a little too into the fight scene and threw a chair across the stage. It was awesome, but obviously kind of dangerous.
