Between the combination of his rugged good looks, and undeniable charm, Matthew Settle is an actor buzzed about in households all over the world. Known best as one of the stars of The CW network's hit drama series Gossip Girl where he was nominated for a Teen Choice Award.
Settle was born in Hickory, North Carolina, the son of Joan and Dr. Robert Settle, who is a Baptist minister. He is the youngest of six children, having two sisters and three brothers. In 2007, Settle revealed that in 2006, at age 37, he had eloped to marry Israeli Jewish actress/model Naama Nativ. They had their first daughter on March 5, 2009, Aven Angelica Settle. In February 2010, Naama and Matthew were separated, and there was speculation they would divorce. On February 17, 2010 Settle confirmed the separation.

Rufus Humphrey has a tough job: he's the father of Jenny and Dan, the head of a humble, middle class family living in a crumbling apartment on the Upper West Side of New York.

His children are outsiders looking into the lives of the rich and glamorous, sliding into the role of Ryan Atwood from The OC.

Rufus is drawn to Serena's glamor and the world that exists just outside the reach of he and his kids.

*Rufus: (on the phone) Hey Lil, you know everything closed on Christmas? The diners claim to be open 24/7... it's false advertising.
*Rufus: (on the phone) So, uh, Alison's leaving. She's spending some time alone with the kids. And I seem to have walked all the way from Brooklyn to your doorstep... without a jacket... in the snow. So, what the hell? I miss you. And I have been missing you for a while.
