The song in the Girl Talk video is "ça plane pour moi" by Plastic Betrand. It was posted in the comments. Sorry if already posted!

That's a cool song.

I love the new one. They're playing Cruel Summer. One of my fave summer songs from way back.

New info on the cd, which seems to be downloadable only.

Quote:
Atlantic will roll out the first installment of "OMFGG -- Original Music Features on Gossip Girl" via digital providers on Tuesday (Sept. 2), with a CD to follow on Oct. 28.

Among the artists featured on the soundtrack are the Virgins, the Republic Tigers, Phantom Planet, the Kills, the Ting Tings and Junkie XL, covering Siouxsie & the Banshees' "Cities in Dust." The album was compiled by noted music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas. Meanwhile, launching this weekend is OMFGG.com, devoted to the music on the show.

Here is the track list for "OMFGG":

"Sour Cherry," the Kills
"Do You Wanna," the Kooks
"Do the Panic," Phantom Planet
"Feeling Better," the Teenagers
"One Week of Danger" (demo), the Virgins
"Got Your Number," Nadia Oh
"Crime Wave," Crystal Castles
"Fight Song," the Republic Tigers
"Cities in Dust," Junkie XL
"We Started Nothing," the Ting Tings
"Breakfast in NYC," Oppenheimer
"Three Wises," the Pierces
"Hard To Live in the City," Albert Hammond Jr.

ETA: Without having to go through the thread, does anyone know which ep, scene goes with what song? I know a couple off hand, but not all.

ETA: Because I was apparently too tired to understand the question.

Songs rearranged to be chronological:
"Hard To Live in the City," Albert Hammond Jr. (101)
"One Week of Danger" (demo), the Virgins (108)
"Three Wishes," the Pierces (110 & promo for 110)
"Breakfast in NYC," Oppenheimer (112)
"Got Your Number," Nadia Oh (113)
"Feeling Better," the Teenagers (114)
"Sour Cherry," the Kills (114 & OMFG promo)
"Do the Panic," Phantom Planet (115)
"Crime Wave," Crystal Castles (115)
"We Started Nothing," the Ting Tings (115)
"Cities in Dust," Junkie XL (117)
"Fight Song," the Republic Tigers (117)
"Do You Wanna," the Kooks (118)

You can find the scene descriptions HERE if you want them.

Thanks for the soundtrack info. Gotta say I'm rather disappointed in the listing. It's not a bad mix overall, but it's very heavily weighted towards the second half of the season (only two songs from the first nine episodes!).

Generally my hopes for a soundtrack are to either:
1) Have songs that were quite meaningful within the show, which I don't think you can count that many of those as being... "Three Wishes" "Do You Wanna" & "Sour Cherry" yes, the others not so much.

If you're going for meaningful what about:
"Young Folks" by Peter Bjorn & John. (first song of the series, the introduction of Serena (& Dan & Jenny & Rufus) and one of the most requested 'what is that song' songs on the boards).
"Believe" by The Bravery (end montage where Serena throws away her phone in 102)
"Beautiful Girls" by Sean Kingston (Serena & Blair have their own photo shoot at the end of 104)
"Rockstar" by Prima J (Truth Or Dare scenes - 105)
"Stripper" by Sohodolls (Blair's striptease - 107)
"Apologize" by OneRepublic (CODA for 110)
"All That I Want" by The Weepies (Christmas montage - 111)
"Come Home" by OneRepublic (Lily tells Rufus she won't leave with him - 112)
"Cross The River" by La Rocca (Rufus packs away his memories of the old days with Lily - 112)
"The Dark Side Of Indoor Track Meets" by Falling Up (The rumor about Blair spreads - 113)
"Happily Never After" by Nicole Scherzinger (Serena talks Blair into staying - 113)
"The Ice Is Getting Thinner" by Death Cab For Cutie (Chuck's best man speech; Dan & Serena dance - 118)

2) Have some of the harder (or impossible) to find songs, like:
both the Lincoln Hawk songs (both done by Song & Wager)
"Can't Be Happening" by The Marlows
"Raise Your Hand (Lifeblood Remix)" by The Lights
"Dusk Till Dawn" by Ladyhawke
"Alright!" by Shiloh
"Ballad Of An Easy..." by David McConnell
"Santa Baby" by The Constance Billard Choir
"Back Seat Taxi" by Silver Money
and practically anything by Miss Eighty 6

That listing just seems rather imbalanced both for spread over the season & for the songs' connection to the series. I know that licensing issues are a big influence, but it just seems that it could have been a lot better. Anyone else have an opinion?

Thanks for the info. I'll go in a bit and edit to show where each was used. I'm to tired to go look now.
