One can have angst sure and they can run with it for a while but... if we say that Chuck falls for Blair in ep 10, for example, and he angsts and stuff about her for the rest of the season, it's going to get a little bit old. There need to be other storylines working either simultaneously or as some sort of breather between the romantic stuff.
