I was looking around on tumblr last night and found sooo many pics of Blake and Leighton from the Rolling Stone photoshoot I'd never seen before.
It's interesting that by all accounts they were never close because they are really playful together.

Yeah the writers royally ****ed up Blerena and for such a lame reason too.
Forever bitter that they destroyed the series OTP the way they did. Bleh.

I don't want to get bitter again.
I'll just post another pic from that set I told you about. Blake and Leighton are so adorable and playful together! I really think they might both be Sensing Perceiving types using that Myers Briggs Type Indicator personality test. Very tactile and playful.

I love Blake and Leighton's Rolling Stone photoshot. Even if they were personally close, they always did a great job of playing off one another onscreen and off.

I think they weren't on the outs even if they weren't as close as Leighton, Ed and Chace were and are. I mean Blake doesn't have a night life, she prefers home life rather than hanging out with people; its the same with her close friends and family too. She prefers her home. Even when she was dating Penn, they weren't seen around that much and they wren't seen with their co-stars, except cast parties, b-day parties, etc. Thats why they were rumored to be on the outs imo but that was never case.

Personally, I think it's sad and disgusting that female co-stars either must be best friends or are said to hate one another. There's no in between with them unlike what is afforded to male actors.

if we had a Blerena survivor I think this scene would be also in top 3 at least. I love it so much. "Nice outfit" "you too"

I hoped 5x11 SB hospital scene would be like this too, regardless it was nice. just not how I hoped.

They are really sisters, and they raised each other

(as NJBC)

I love the scene in 3x9 where Chuck (with nate) helps them to rebuild their relationship. That Nate asks "what are they even fighting about this time?" and Chuck says "basically how much more the other one loves the other"

They are each other's loves of lives too!

I know I've posted this a million times before but one of the things I love about them is that they are so perfectly dysfunctional functional.

They both have these needs from their childhoods that the other fills.
Serena needs protection and attention and (except for S5) Blair always gave that to her.
Blair needs control and being Serena's savior/protector gives it to her. They may fight and have resentments but they need and love one another.
They really DID raise one another. I think the whole NJBC did. They had messed up families and needed one another.

And I love that Nate and Chuck scene lessismore mentioned

They WOULD argue over who loves who more

I posted about this on the last thread and no one responded (I'm such a conversation killer.

) but I completely agree with you. I see it also as they fill in the spots that their MOTHERS didn't give them:

Eleanor was never an affection mother (until after she started dating Cyrus) and everything she said had a caveat -- you're beautiful but you'll never be more beautiful than you are now, etc -- whereas Serena is just pure love -- affection, warm, quick to hug Blair.

Lily was never a mother that her daughter could rely upon as she'd pack up and leave at a moment's notice or, more often, without any notice whereas plans and consistency are Blair's middle name.
