That's an interesting point, that Val wanted to be Kelly's friend. I am not so sure about it. I guess the only woman she showed a sincere empathy with in S5 was Donna, after Ray pushed her down the stairs. She also did not mind Clare and Andrea though. And with Kelly, Kelly was definitely the one who started the animosity. Val did not like her, but I think she did not feel necessarily hostile to her initially. Nor friendly. She just did not care.

I agree Kelly started the animosity. Val really tried to be nice to Kelly but Miss Taylor didn`t seem too care
 And did you guys bought Val´s argument when she told Kelly why she hated her because she(Kelly) ruined her(Val`s) only chance with Brandon? __________________

I guess Valerie didn't necessarily want to be friends with Kelly, but she wasn't mean to her until Kelly was. I forgot when Valerie told Kelly that. I remember that the writers had Brandon say Valerie was like a sister to him when she first arrived. She was half dressed in front of him and he was clearly uncomfortable which showed she wasn't like a sister to him. I remember Valerie and Brandon making out at the end of season 5 and the writers had Brandon's conscious talking to him about going all the way with Valerie. I am kind of disappointed the writers never really did anything with Valerie and Brandon after that. On a totally shallow note, Valerie would have looked great together
