I was sort of happy he only had goodbye with Brandon. But yeah, I guess it would have been interesting with her.

Oh, don't get me wrong - I LOVED that his big silent goodbye moment was with Jason Priestley

and I still think it's the best friendship scene in the show other than Brenda/Donna in the S4 finale because of how Luke and Jason's real friendship shines through in their intense stares.

But I think Val and Dylan were kinda cheated after season 5 of any good moments together other than Val taunting him over Kelly being with Colin.

I really liked how she called him on his arrogant remark at the party in Casa Walsh that he was only there for Kelly: "You never learn, do you?"

yeah I bet she relished that. Dylan was often quite heartless when it came to favoring Kelly over Val in an emotional sense that I can't blame Val for taking any opportunity to rub it in that Kelly isn't living in the past anymore.

I think her point was not just about Kelly moving on, but simply being consistently wrong for him, and always drifting to a new guy.

And again, as I said in another thread, Dylan in season 5 seemed so OOC to me. He goes from mourning Brenda in 5x01 to suddenly obsessing over Kelly again in the following episode.

It's as if different writers came into conflict with each other over what Dylan should be like in the aftermath of Brenda leaving, and the obsession with Kelly (after wisely letting her go in Vital Signs, season 4) was proof of that. He was drawn to her again for nostalgia more than anything. He had a chance to wake up to that and listen to Val's advice, but nope.

She was so great in that scene. She really screwed him over

Dylan was quite lame in S5. I don't get what made him think he was so superior to Val.
