That was a good scene. I love when she confronted him about lying. I do not know why he thought he was better than her in S5. He was really not.

I also liked when he talked about Brenda, how Val's vulnerable side showed then, and he was understanding. They should have had more moments like that, IMO.

I always thought this was the opportunity for Val to change, right here with this line, because she's FINALLY opening up and being honest that she wants a ready-made family to make up for the one she never had. Too bad the writing was unbelievably inconsistent for her, particularly in late season 6 and season 7.

Also, that was perhaps the only scene in season 5 (other than his drunken rambling in episode 1) where the script told us that Dylan was still thinking about and deeply missed Brenda.

Dylan and David took her the most seriously. Both relationships deserved better treatment than they got.

Even if it was unspoken, they were each other's go-to person in season five.

Yes. Dylan would sometimes bitch about it, but still.

Also - did that guy ever locked his door? I do not think Val had the keys. Brandon would just roam there, Val too, and I think I remember Kevin, Suzzane and Erica once surprising him and Kelly. The only time I remember him locking the door was in S4 when Brandon broke and entered, and Dylan almost shot him for it
