… I can see why that pic got to her.

Yeah, Jennie looks sad.

So we have Jason to thank for this great final cut scene
Awesome.

Yes, Brenda would do a good job of telling off Valerie. Brandon should have picked up on her lies sooner.

Sidenote I wish I had some s3 scripts with great Dylan/Kelly scenes, the only one I have is Duke's Bad Boy, I will do a quick check to see if there's anything good I missed.
I have that one too. There's some changes to their final scene, when Kelly leaves Dylan to his writing. That's a heartbreaking scene, played so well.

Well, I've gathered the latest old thread links. I'll go put them in the OP.

such a heartbreaking scene
D: I'll call you later
K: You don't have to
D: I want to

One thing I did find interesting was the scene where they're having dinner at the Walsh house the line Dylan says about Eat today, diet tomorrow and Kelly says some day that's gonna catch up with you..."till then, pass the pie"
That was initially for Jim and Cindy...interesting!
anyway not many deep descriptions on this script though.

Oh I saw on instagram someone posted that old funny photoshoot pic where Luke is holding Jennie's hair across his face like a mustache

What?! You mean, like --

Jim: Well, you know what I always say ... Eat today, diet tomorrow. [Holy sh ... I thought it was "die" tomorrow ]
Cindy: Someday that's going to catch up with you.
Jim: Until then, pass the pie!

It's actually fitting either way. I can totally see the Walsh parents having that attitude. But also Dylan. Living for the moment, not a care in the world.

hahaha "eat today..die tomorrow?" that does give it a whole new meaning!

Yeah I just noticed it reading today and thought it was better suited for Dylan just in the sense that he's so slim and does look like he can eat whatever he wants, Mr Walsh however..... well I think of what he says in the graduation episode having lunch with Dylan and he's eating salad and Dylan's eating burgers Dylan "That's what I have to look forward to? Jim: "only if you eat too many of those"

JIM: Do what I do, Kelly. Eat today, diet tomorrow.

CINDY: One day, Jim, it's going to catch up with you.

JIM: Yeah, but till then, pass the pie.

sound of door Brandon etc

JIM: Better get in here quick Brandon-- the pie's going fast
(That line was given to Brenda in the shoot)

Maybe James Eckhouse couldn't be there for some reason? Anyway it worked well without him too.

Hey, roll the videotape! Diet and die sound so similar, I wouldn't be surprised if I still hear it. You know, like, 'I'll sleep when I'm dead'. Dylan was surely an advocate of indulgence while you can. I'm thinking of that chocolate cake now in "Rebel Without A Cause".

Haha, so maybe they were being 'sensitive' to the older folks. I thought Jim was there at the table, lol. I've really lost this scene, haven't I?

The aftermath, in the car, is so sad and kind of advanced material for pre-pubescents to understand.

oh that chocolate cake in Rebel....."do you know how many calories are on that fork" "uh huh about a billion"
he is such a rebel even with chocolate cake

yeah in the car scene, I did watch these season 3 episodes so many times even in my teen years it's hard for me to remember how I interpreted it on first airing.

Interesting the changes in writing.

I redid this OP.

I hope it's not too much.

Thanks.

I'm in such a Dy/K mood right now.

This gif just shows the looks before the Epic Kiss.

Court made it.

Guys. I'm not on Instagram but if anyone here is, I need y'all to go to this post https://www.instagram.com/p/BveSKI1D_zZ/

Someone please defend the poster who correctly stated it was Luke who asked to be paired with Jennie according to Charles Rosin. She's getting reamed for stating this truth.

The Brenda and Dylan fans hysterics over any Dylan and Kelly write up is so odd.

I mean I like Dylan & Kelly and adore Donna & David, but the level of investment is just ........ :

Some comments are so full of hate it's crazy If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all. I never comment under D/B pics, or other couples I don't like

The Couples OP is not too much, Jaime. There are more recent arts, too, like remember the ones from Nia? I'd like to see what we can do with this one here too, taking it slowly and collaboratively, and make something mind-blowing.

OMG, Lori. New behind the scenes pics from the Summer of S3.

Well, I'm happy that the90210bro, being as big a fan IG acct as it is, has respect for Dylan and Kelly and their fans enough to post something like that.

You know, it's not like it's even the first time Charles Rosin has told this anecdote about Luke requesting to work more with Jennie. Apart from the REELZ "Luke Perry: In His Own Words" special (which had nothing new re: Luke/Jennie or Dylan/Kelly, btw) and apparently Jennie's book (it's been a while since reading, I forgot) - he said it on the S3 DVD commentary. And it's a statement of fact, not an assessment of which couple is better, but of course any starting point sets things off.

It's buried in our OP:

S3 DVD Commentary w/ Charles and Karen Rosin;
CR: “It wasn’t the reason to go forward with this [making Dy/K a couple], of course. The reason was, though, um … Luke Perry came into my office. I always made it at the end of the season that the actors could come and tell me what they like or didn’t like, and he said, ‘Can’t I start doing stuff with [Jennie]?’ […] So I remember calling in Steve [Wasserman] and Jessica [Klein] and said, ‘Can we make this work? Can we change it up?’ And Steve Wasserman, who unfortunately has passed away, had, you know, great enthusiasm and just went, ‘YES! Let’s do it!’”

(Re: Dy/K talking at the Peach Pit in “Home and Away”)

CR: “And this is a beautiful – the theme of the abandoned father. And this was – this was also a third year episode called ‘Senior Poll’, written by Chip Johannessen, who has gone on to do some really terrific shows.”
KR: “He was a very good writer.”
CR: “He did the ‘Princeton Boys to Men’, he did the dance with the High School violence, and of course that wonderful scene.”

(Re: Dy/K in the pool, “Back In the High Life”)

CR: “Maybe the most – the sexiest scene we ever did.”

(Re: Dy/K hugging at Graduation, right after she sees her father, “Commencement”)

KR: “You always appreciated it when we could, um, sort of illuminate the underlying psychological make-up of a character without …”
CR: “Hitting it on the head.”
KR: “Yeah.”

So, Steve Wasserman? Also a fan.
