Kelly's kitchen Jake: "that smells great" Kelly: "yeah...I love lasagna" Jake: "I wasn't talking about the lasagna..."*smile* and cue sax so it's still funny but also so hot! haha I initially thought Jake seemed like an older version of Dylan...and then he really did have something to do with Dylan and Kelly together... Kelly heartbroken, Dylan said he warned Jake not to hurt her etc Quote:

I've been trying more podcasts again (to find some hidden D/K behind the storylines info)....and it's just getting depressing some are just very crass, the whole tone of just "mocking" practically everything... It's like the extra features on the dvd's, the season 3 one where those 2 guys talk, I found that actually funny and yes they do mock but it's only like I don't know 10 min? so short, sweet and kind of fun (especially the paper hat thing ) But a podcast is literally over an hour of this mocking....and insensitivity to a lot of the characters "ugh so and so is upset for no reason...." if you actually pay attention there is a reason etc.....Of course there are things I find funny in the show, Steve's bad advice etc, some of David's songs etc (I'm talking about seasons 1 - 4 specifically) but there is such interesting depth to be discussed too! And I really worry that the serious guests they have on podcast who actually worked on the show will think this is what all fans are like...they love the show but they think of it as just a whole big joke to be laughed at.... Which I do understand that lots of people do that but not all of us... I actually found a different podcast and thought that may be better and it was even worse I couldn't get through 5 min. I know there are so many fan made things of lots of movies/tv shows and they have this mocking vibe etc and I always try to remember well if they did put this much time and effort into it then they must really love it etc so it comes from a good place but ugh some of it just makes me nauseous Can someone please do an intelligent based 90210 podcast with a few jokes of course but actually try to cover some depth? until then... I'm gonna stick to surfing...I mean reading about it I need some more D/K love to make me feel better Oh I keep forgetting I came across a real script with a little D/K tidbit between the lines you may all like....I'll try to scan it this week. |

Thanks for this forum guys.
Luke Perry’s death upset me more than I expected. I’ve been catching up on your forum since then and it’s been a balm of flashbacks, info and great memories! I’ll start by placing myself firmly in the Dylan & Kelly camp. Not only did they look physically good together (I love the contrast in their colouring and the height difference) but their chemistry was ………woah! I 100% believe that Luke and Jennie did date on/off during pretty much all of 90210 and it shouldn’t be a surprise no story ever came out about them. Shannen Doherty alluded a few years back, to Luke & Kelly’s very special on-set connection when she appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live. (Though the video’s now unavailable) Considering Luke pushed for the Dyaln & Kelly storyline, it’s likely the cast was aware of how they felt about each other. In love scenes of Kelly and Dylan. it’s clear to me that Luke’s besotted with Jennie. He practically undresses her with his eyes frame for frame. As you guys correctly stated he ‘breathes her in’ When Luke appeared on WWHL he was offered the Shag, Marry, or Kill option with Tori, Jennie & Shannen and of course he chose to shag Jennie!! What a surprise. NOT! Jason Priestley wrote in his memoirs that the 90210 cast pretty much dallied with each other freely. He never named names. But of course, Tori Spelling outed that she, Tori, & Jason had a fling. Jason was pissed (and I believe embarrassed) that Tori outed them. See I would NEVER have expected that pairing and no one would have ever known about this if Tori didn’t talk. TBF Tori only outed her own relationships and no other cast mates. I think the cast have correctly decided to keep their on-set secrets tight. There were even rumours that Luke and Jennie dated post-divorces, but in the long term decided it best to stay friends. I think they both felt official coupledom will poison the friendship, especially if it was an ugly break up and considering how jealous both Luke & Jennie are, it would definitely have been an ugly split!! Jason Priesley was asked if it was true that Luke and Jennie were finally dating and his response “ I hope so”. https://people.com/tv/jennie-garths-...son-priestley/ I think even Jason knew of their history together! |

Welcome Arami and I love your post. I always thought there was something between them but thought that it never got to fruition b/c of Jennie's marriage (the Daniel B. Clark one).

Wow so much discussion!

It just felt more like acting with all the other couples to me. There was something more to me with Dy/K & I think it's b/c Luke/Jennie had a real connection. Quote:

(Had to) January: Yeah, context is not doing the 'lasagna' line any favors either. At least it belongs to Kelly/Jake, not Dylan/Kelly. They had to crank out a lot of episodes in short order. No sentimentality about Kelly and Jake, but they did set us up for understanding where Kelly was at before she began to wish her and Dylan could be something more. It had taken a while for her walls to come down, for her to crave a real relationship, and we had never really seen what it was like when passion ran deep for Kelly and she was weak in the knees (save that one S2 episode with Cousin Bobby, but even that wasn't on par with this). Thanks for the welcome guys.
I recently watched this 90210 reunion video and I’m sure y’all have discussed it in the past, but we’re looking at the Jennie/Luke relationship through the lens of history now, so I wanted to give my opinion. O/T - Why was Vincent Young there? https://hollywoodlife.com/2016/11/12...n-panel-watch/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iI-RscoNkP8&t=199s (Sorry I tried and failed to embed video). OK, there’s so much to unpack. When Luke says Brenda /Dylan were the couple of the show – as to be expected, their coupling was the most famous by far - I was taken aback by Jennie’s reaction to Luke giving props to D & B. She looked pissed and Tori looked kinda stunned. It was funny & revealing that Tori tried to quickly give props to Dylan & Kelly after Luke's remarks. I mean Tori’s Jennie’s closest and oldest friend, so she knew how Jennie would feel about the remarks. (Which is also very telling IMO ) Now here’s my question, since Jennie’s always giving props to Brandon & Kelly coupledom, why was she bothered Luke name checked Dylan & Brenda? Why? I mean IMO, anytime Jennie gave interviews declaring Jason was a better kisser than Luke, I felt it so disrespectful to a guy who clearly adores her. She could just say no comment, or that Brenda/Colin was the best kisser! I also think it’s disingenuous considering in early interviews, Jennie gave the highest props to Luke as a wonderful kisser, before doing a 180 in the last couple of years. So, in the video, Luke knew Jennie was pissed as he tries to walk it back any hurt, by out of nowhere giving a monologue on Jennie’s great acting skills. (Was Luke's way of an apology I guess ) Jennie clearly forgave him considering the backrubs she intermittently gave him for the rest of the session. I find that video and interesting insight into the dynamics of their real-life relationship. Tori’s reaction – as the person who knew them both soooooo well – is also telling. The script I have is for "The Real McCoy", I'll try scan this one tidbit soon. I mentioned years ago that I kind of gave up on the show at the beginning of season 5, as a young girl it was just far too devastating for me to see Dylan on this downward spiral, and the entrance of Valerie really made me upset, I just couldn't handle it and pretty much said "I'm out" and stopped regular watching, just caught bits and pieces here and there, then you guys here told me I should give it another chance as there was more Dy/K stuff to come so I did revisit the rest of the show a couple years ago but I admit I don't know it well at all compared to the first 4 seasons, as I've only seen each episode from s5 onwards once. So I don't even remember how close this script is to what was shot for The Real McCoy but I plan to re-watch this weekend. Anyway I think you'll all like it Quote:
I just watched it and so many great moments! I loved that Luke said he was there on set even though he wasn't working that day, and he watched Jennie's performance in the slumber party episode and said she knocked it out of the park! My take on Luke saying his favorite couple was Brenda/Dylan, I think really was his way to say something nice about Shannen while she was sick, they were clearly worried about her and even feeling slightly guilty about the negative things said about her in the past, so he really wanted to send lots of love to her and say anything that sends love her way. If someone asked him a few years before his favorite couple I'm not sure he would have said that, but who knows. I'll let the rest of you analyze the rest of what was going on in that interview |

Secondly I 100% get why Luke said it. My question was to Jennie's reaction. And my bemusement as to how Tori was trying to do obvious 'clean up' for Luke. |

Hi again, everyone! Been a while.
Had some free time and I ended up watching DK vids. I am loving all the conversation here especially in the last few pages. Dylan & Kelly were my first OTP and I remember how at that time spoilers weren't much of a thing and our local TV station would air episodes months late. Oh, the nerves I had in S3 were plain funny. So glad it worked out for them in the end. As far as I'm concerned they're still together. __________________
