Yes! those are great!! Is that your blog Jaime?

Has anyone ever listened to the 90210 podcast the Blaze with Kat and Lizzie? it's actually hard for me to listen to sometimes because they can get very anti D/K but they have such great guests I just have to listen to some of them, Jason was on, Charles Rosin, Dana Baron, Christine Elise and they have Karen Rosin talking about the summer episode Too Little Too Late so it's interesting to hear her talk about the Dylan Kelly storyline and how they approached it.

I'm still listening but so far how because the D K storyline was going to happen after Luke requested to work more with Jennie and they had to think how they were going to have that happen...and not make Kelly look really bad etc and careful about people disliking Dylan too, the only way was to make Brenda go away which is why they had the whole Paris storyline and even then they had to make Kelly really put up a fight (meaning show resistance and anguish etc) so that the audience wouldn't dislike her for it, they really had to tread carefully etc

interesting thoughts to hear!

I know it makes me really upset when i hear people say such nasty things about her, it feels really unfair. I always had such love and respect for all the original characters. I liked Dylan and Brenda in the early years too and still have respect for them as a couple, there was just something about Kelly and Dylan though that really got me, so strong, i think it was the longing and pain Kelly went through and Dylan too in early season 3 that got me, and then when they finally did get together!! Explosions!

Another interesting thing Karen Rosin said is that the triangle was based on people her husband Charles Rosin knew in high school, the guy fell in love with his girlfriends best friend and they got together and eventually married, she said they have been married 30 years and are still friends with the other person so there was some reality to the storyline.

I found that really interesting!

Sadly there are always going to be haters of anything.

I find myself laughing at reasons that a lot come up with on all subjects.

It's not like Brenda was innocent.

She cheated on Dylan with Rick.

Season 1 Brenda admits she kissed her best friend's boyfriend to break them up.

I've never heard that podcast before. It sounds neat.

I don't count the spinoff & say Dy/K married just like the couple they were based on in RL.

Everything in the orig. finale pointed to Dy/K as endgame.

To answer your earlier question that's not my blog.

I don't count the spinoff either I thought it was terrible I didn't even make it through many episodes and just heard things they were doing....even Charles Rosin said Dylan would never just abandon his child. It's crazy that completely new writers can just try to takeover characters they had nothing to do with.
The only positive was that they had Jennie and Shannen and Tori some episodes but even still, it's bizarro land. It didn't have any original writers so as far as I see it it's a completely different show that i have no interest in

Jennie's IG with the butterflies!

This is the podcast if you want to hear this episode https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/the...kat/e/42360532

but really beware the two hosts really don't like D/K and i've heard them say some not nice things about Jennie too so be careful, depending on the guest host they will be on their best behaviour so it's hit or miss per episode, but this one in particular was pretty good.

One of my fave pics as well.

And this intention really came across on screen. I think they succeeded quite well. We were inside the POV of Dylan and/or Kelly for the longest.

Same, especially while watching original runs and reruns in the 90's.

This end description is so cute. ! Explosions! And then … !! … But also so accurate for how it first felt. Like, mind. blown.

It might have been orchestrated behind the scenes from inorganic inspiration, but Kelly and Dylan had been developed in ways at that point, that exact point, that organically did allow for meaningful creative potential with their characters. We obviously didn't see it coming, but there was a hotbed of material if they wanted to use it. Thus the explosion.

That's very interesting! I had no idea. Incredibly good to know. I bet it helped them to sympathize with all the characters as they were writing the storyline out.

Yeah, I had checked out the podcast at one point but the hosts were a disappointment. Thanks for the link, though. Better you to navigate …

On the podcast, I assume? Yeah. I feel the same way about the spinoff + an added essay on how awkwardly sad and pathetic it made Kelly 2.0 and Brenda 2.0 look to still be competitive about minor actions and stuck in this triangle like only a year has passed since 1994 and not 14. And who are they to kill off Jackie 2.0 for a cheap shot at some tears? (Which I didn't cry because, again, bizarro land)
