I always liked that moment when Brenda asks if they slept together and they emphatically state that they didn't. Regardless of everything else, I think it's nice how they care a good deal about her feelings during that scene.

Yeah, I never doubted for a second that they cared about her feelings. At that moment, what I'm mostly feeling is the sting Kelly receives at the notion that even her best friend can't imagine that she's now the kind of person who'd have the self-respect to wait to sleep with a guy, so it's based on an emotional connection. And I think Dylan, much like in the restaurant confrontation, is a bit frustrated at hearing such devaluing assumptions, but they can both understand why their friend/ex is so upset, lol, obviously, so for the time being it comes off only as Dy/K still standing firm in their commitment to each other despite all the drama.
Hey, Happy Birthday, Lori! I'll vote out 14. Quote:

As usual, you see a few layers that I probably missed. Looking at it that way, I wish the show had emphasised Kelly's history/reputation a bit more during that moment.
Then again, maybe Brenda's disbelief was mostly directed at Dylan. Brenda knows that Kelly's really hot. What guy (not named Jake Hanson) could resist her? Kidding. Jumping way, way ahead -- I have a theory or two as to why they never got married (perhaps Dylan was uncomfortable with marrying again). I can also see why Dylan's apparent absence in Sammy's life could strain their relationship further, given Kelly's past with her own father. Some of this makes me wish the spin-off had gotten the chance to do the triangle they supposedly wanted to do. |

Yeah, I saw! Glad we can talk here too. Are you okay with your icon retrospective art strip being all Dylan/Kelly?

Those are the exact reasons I'd give to rationalize a separation plotline on the spinoff (which I'd enjoy, too). But it seems weird to dwell on it like it's some natural development to understand and not whatever fit the marketing needs of the CW. Btw, this "Sammy" kid is part of an even bigger ad campaign than we thought. Toyota's given him an alter-ego and video series on YT. Ex. YouTube - The Worm -- Nathan James Show - Toyota Highlander The kid's getting tall! __________________
