I can actually see it for Andrea, given that she was always supposedly so much more mature intellectually and responsible socially than her peers. She could easily get swayed by intelligence, that is, by some professor, for example.

Honestly, I don't have a problem with Steve saying that.

It really challenged the myth that everyone in the gang were besties. Steve and Brenda were never close. He might've said it in a moment of anger, but it rang true.

Brenda really started going down her own path in season 4, and it felt like she was naturally shedding any relationships that weren't vital to her life anymore.

So she was much less close to Kelly. The pretense that she was close to Andrea, David and Steve was mostly dropped. The only close connections left felt like Donna, Dylan and Brandon.

It's very hard for me to picture Donna falling for a much older man. But she did date older; Ray was 5 years older than Donna.

I can easily see Brenda dating a much older gentleman.

Andrea was always into older guys. She had mad crushes on two teachers, and relationships with Jay, Dan, Jesse and Peter, who were all 3-7 years older than her. The only boys her age she had feelings for were Brandon and Jordan.

But when you look at the show, all the original 90210 girls dated older guys at one point or another.
