I think Dylan and Brenda in S6 would be more mature. But Toni was absolutely lovely for him. He does need a girl like that or something similar

I love that Toni shared interests with Dylan - like when they went riding together on his motorcycle, the one thing he was always protective of.

I love that he wasn't crazy about the cat at first, but he grew to adore it... And it snuck back into the house, back to Dylan, after Toni died

When you love someone, you will love everything about that person and what is surrounded around it even if you are not much of a fan of it.
Dylan has actually proved that he can be committed to someone, in Toni - that is the proof you need. I think if Shannen came back, I think he will show commitment to Brenda because they do have history together. He has also proved that he can't commit to Kelly (even with a kid). A man needs the right girl to commit - that's the truth.

I never really trusted Dylan with Brenda again after Season 3. After the Summer Fling revelation. He was so uncharacteristically cold to her about that and then when Kelly isn't around in Season 4, he's hanging around Brenda again, flirting with her during the fishing activity .... She turns him down... Then later on when she admits she is still in love with him, HE turns HER down.

Made no sense. They suddenly act as if he only likes Kelly. That's the same episode that Kelly is Brandon's date before the retreat.

That's why I ended up preferring his endgame romance with Toni. There was no complicated love triangle nonsense. It was just the two of them, devoted to each other.

I loved their scenes together. Rebecca Gayheart fit really well into the show. She had a fun-loving vibe to her but could also play the serious parts.

Dylan's romance with her was such a whirlwind of emotions
