He was peaceful with her

as much as Dylan could ever get in life. That's why he left town after she died. Not even his friendship with Brandon could fill the void left by Toni's absence

Yeah, he had enough of everything. This was a good exit, but maybe he should have left even earlier.

Yes. Although, again - I am not sure how long their relationship would have survived anyway. Of course it was all cute at the start, but they did not know each other well. Also, her father killed his, and I don't know how they would be able to overcome that. They would not be able to share any memory without painful references. I don't know, unfortunately I do not see Dylan/Toni as the best solution.

I think that applied to many of Dylan's relationships, though. He didn't necessarily know them long before falling for them.

I don't think that's a particularly bad thing. His failed relationship with Brenda was mostly to do with knowing her parents too well, and his failed relationship with Kelly came from their endless attempts to make things last based on lust more than anything.

I think Toni was good for him because she was searching for an escape, just like Dylan.

But Brenda and Kelly's parents did not kill any of his. parents were smaller problems in their cases than in Toni's.

I'm not sure escapism is a good basis for anything. But anyway - I think this way she had a purpose, she gave Dylan great exit from the show and their relationship worked best, in terms of narrative, as a short tragic romance. For anything else, I am just not sure. We'd have to see. And I am actually sorry we did not.

These two were not my favorite couple on the show, but I did enjoy them and felt so bad for their horrible, sad ending. Dylan did seem pretty peaceful with her.
