Although they do run down the hill together (with David) when the group all join up at the end of the episode. I think moments like that showed how Brenda had drifted more towards hanging out with Donna in the aftermath of the D/K betrayal.

Physically yes, but also in terms of her make-up etc it all seemed like an effort on Shannen's part to feel more like herself in terms of how she was growing up as well at the time
