I remember Valerie asking David to sleep with Ginger. I am glad their breakup wasn't about cheating. It's actually the opposite. The second breakup I think was about the guy who was an abuser who was sick. I am fuzzy on the details

Having watched the show again and again, I think David and Val were a better match than Donna and David but I know for the show DD are one of big 4 couples on the show so it is understandable having them together at the end. I think Donna was actually best with Joe in S6.

I wasn't a Donna and David fan. David cheated on her too much to me. I preferred Donna with Joe too. Valerie and David worked much better to me

I liked Donna/Joe and Val/David too. I think with David, Val was behaving better than she normally would've

I am not a huge fan of Donna/David either, I understand why they were together at the end, but I still think David/Val worked together better. I liked Donna with Joe too.

For the sake of the show, they put a DD ending as they are the one of the 4 main couples on the show so it is understandable but personally I don't think their personalities match. David seemed to get the best out of Valerie and actually had chemistry. Donna (being this sweet girl) deserves a gentleman like Joe (although I find Donna/Joe very boring)
