Brenda Walsh/Shannen Doherty Appreciation Thread:
banner by brookiez69 Brenda Walsh was introduced as the more rebellious Walsh twin to her earnest, good samaritan brother, Brandon. The character soon became infamous for her bratty traits, being perceived as a bad girl, and bitch (mostly having to do with Shannen Doherty’s bad publicity.) But besides her bad reputation, you can never deny that the character was incredibly strong, caring, protective, and forgiving. She was able to give a shoulder to lean on to people even after they hurt her; she fought for what she believed in, and went after her dreams. And who could ever forget the trademark bangs she sported? Throughout her 4 years on the show, she survived an intense relationship with Dylan McKay, two short flings, a broken engagement, summer in Paris, betrayal, controlling parents, overshadowing brother, stifling environment, and a psychopath trying to destroy her, but in the end she came out stronger than ever. She grew, and went through different phases to say the least, and her momentum in the show is to never be underestimated. She left such a huge impact on the show that to this day she is still remembered, and arguably the most infamous character, but one thing I think everyone can agree on is that the show was never the same when she left. Please add me too. Shannen shouldn't have left. The show couldnt be the same without Brenda and even though Valerie became one of my fave characters when an original member leaves there is always that something missing.

Brenda Walsh is my homegirl and I've loved Shannen Doherty forever. Bren was definitely my all-time fave 90210 character. I still watched 90210, after she left, but it was never quite the same and I always missed her. Please add me to the supporter list!

I was actually supposed to start this thread and had an opening post all ready. Could you add this to the opening post?:

I am so sorry cartiergurl01, I didn't realize that people were assigned threads. I just love Brenda and when I saw no thread for her I just started one. I'll go ahead and add that to the opening and I'll add everyone to the list.
I agree with all of you saying that it just wasn't the same after she left. I still loved the show and everything but there was something missing. __________________

I added you. I don't think the show really went downhill after that because I continued to love it but I do think it was weird without her there and I never got used to her being gone.

I think the show remained solid for a while but eventually I think something was missing and for me it was her. The whole show was really based on her as well as her family moving to Beverly Hills and adjusting to that new lifestyle, without her it just didnt make sense for me. She was a large focus of the show and without her I just couldnt be as obsessed with the show as I was before.

Ya it was largely focused on her family moving and making the adjustment so it was weird that she left but I got over it. And the show was amazing after she left but it was still better with her on it

I wouldn't mind at all really if it wasn't for the fact that the ones I really wanted to start (Brenda,Donna/David and also Valerie) and I claimed on the request thread were started and I put a lot of time into them for the first post. Time wasted now. But I understand, I wasn't home, I was at a wedding reception and I really wasn't expecting the board to be opened so soon but the threads needed to be started and I appreciate your effort to start all the threads and give them nice openings.
Here are some pics of Shannen and SMG. Enjoy. __________________
