I think it's from Back in the High Life Again, the morning after Jack's party, when Brenda told Jim and Cindy that Jackie did not mind her daughter getting to know Jack. And this was Cindy's reply. I am not sure though.

I guess Brenda was still (or again?) insecure about Kelly being a rich, popular blonde beauty of Beverly Hills that could have any guy, including Brenda's love, and it was not nice of Cindy to pinpoint at that. Although it was not what she meant.

It's odd to me Jennie implied that she was threatened of Shannen's fame when she claimed she went out of her way to avoid that type of attention.

Well, it makes sense to me. When the show started, Shannen was the only one who had a resume and was sort of famous, and she was very aware of it. I'm sure insecure Jennie who had bad feedback from her drama teacher felt endangered by that. Shannen was an exhibitionist while Jennie was shy, and I'm sure she was sometimes fascinated by Shannen and wanted to have a piece of her (alleged) self-confidence, as much as she disliked her at times. She wanted to be famous, but without all the negative reactions that can come with it.
