Steve wasn't trying to compete with Brandon for Jill. He was just rambling on about how he wanted Jill when he was younger. After she and Brandon hooked up, Steve was trying to pry details from Brandon about how she was in bed. But Brandon and Jill never had sex.

So, in S2 Brandon and Steve did not fight over any girl, in S1 they fought about Kelly a bit, and I don't recall them fighting over anyone after S3. S3 was the worst in that sense, I guess.
