If you love Brandon-Kelly, then this is the season for you - that's the main reason I enjoyed it but I definitely enjoyed Dylan-Valerie combo

I actually don't, but there is a lot of stuff about them I did not really see or I forgot, so I guess I could watch more of post-S4. Oh, what can I do. I just never really liked the show after Brenda left.

I think you should give it a go.
In truth, when Brenda left I was going to stop watching it and funny enough when I decided to continue I didn't like BK initially but having watched the program 100s of times now, I thought their relationship was beautiful considering I'm not a Kelly fan either

Season 5 is probably my favorite season for them, it was just great.

It is probably because we had a good full season of them being a couple which showed a very positive light on a beautiful relationship, we can forget about certain parts of season 8 though,

Yes after the Toil and Trouble episode, it did go downhill from there but we all know why that happened and well it was unrealistic to say the very least. I agree, season 7 had some amazing BK moments especially in the latter half of the season.
I think there were parts of season 6 where we had a few nice BK moments - the Thanksgiving episode in particular springs to mind but I felt they could have had a few more moments between them in that season. To be honest, I'm a Colin/Kelly fan too and I thought they were entertaining as heck but yeah I was little disappointed with season 6 because of lack of BK moments

For me, I hated it after mid-season 8 onwards. Jason Priestley leaving in early season 9 was the final nail in the coffin for me.
But I think BK shippers would prefer to talk about the positive aspects of their relationship and I can assure you there were many great things to say about Brandon-Kelly relationship.
The Pros certainly outweighs the Cons regarding BK

Eh...I didn't hate it. I just didn't like it much. But to me, I guess I could hate S8.
