Both she and Tori claim it was the highest rated (reboot, I mean). Maybe the other summer shows also were not very popular, because, well, it's summer?

In any case, I'm glad they do not seem willing to give up yet.

I only know that Big Brother was always number 1.
Being best of the worst doesn't say too much.

We have too see it from the Network perspective too. Maybe they only pick up the show for 6 episode and Tori and Jennie hoping it would get a second season.
Maybe they invest too much to not get what they want in return. It may have been the highest of the summer but if It didn't exceed their expectations they need to take a decision.

They really should have done a focus group before filming and airing the show.

In any case, as far as I am concerned, kudos to them for doing this. It was brave, and suits my taste much more than the original ever did.

If there's a problem with the reboot, maybe it's that it's "too clever for its own good", as this title suggests (although I do not really agree with the review per se):

The simple fact that the show's premiere episode that the HIGHEST RATINGS OF THE SUMMER for FOX should have been enough to convince the studio that it had earned a second season, at the very least.

They haven't been done justice here. I truly feel bad for the cast because they seemed really enthusiastic about it the whole time it was airing.

She said there are some talks going on.

^ The ratings did go down every week but that's quite normal for any TV show. It had a successful debut episode, so that alone should have been strong enough to convince Fox that it was worth saving.

You can't base only on the premiere ratings.

It will not guarantee you that by the second season you will get the same numbers again seeing that by half of the season it already dropped by 50-60%. Many people watched it because of other reasons not because of the heighten version of themselves.

Rstings do dropped, but they don't keep dropping that drastically either. Many shows dropped and stay consistent in their numbers or can get higher or reach an maximum peak as the season goes by.

If we are going to base on only premiere than many show should have lasted.

Although it woud have been better if the amount episode was more than 6 atleast 12 episodes would have been better than 6. It would have gave the show time to breathe. Because the show really find it's way by episode 5 and 6.

Well Tori was the first to react, and she said it was not over (I posted it on the previous page). She and Jennie are the main producers, I guess, so they should know about the talks.

Well that's a fair point, yes

But then again considering this was a reunion of a cast that people had been waiting to see together again for decades, and it gained a LOT of hype.

Plus, I didn't even care much for the idea of it back then - but I have to give credit where it's due. It took over media when it debuted. The cast were thrilled and promoted it a lot: FOX surely saw this and must have seen the surprisingly warm reactions from people who weren't initially happy about the idea of the actors playing themselves instead of the characters.

I just think it would be a missed opportunity for another network to not bring it back for another go.

They should have indeed done more than 6 episodes. At least two more. The finale felt rushed and enforced.
