I was watching the Olympics last night and their was a documentary about the Nancy Kerrigan/Tonya Harding debacle.

I'm wondering if the ice skater episode was introduced because the country became enthralled in ice skating? 90210 did tend to take on topical issues.

^ I remember the Nancy Kerrigan/Tonya Harding situation. I was in elementary school when that happened. Yeah, I agree with you about 90210's episode on the ice skater.

I remember the Nancy Kerrigan/Tonya Harding situation as well. I was really young when it happened though so I am a little foggy on it.

OMG. You are so right Mikela. I was thinking season 2 was a nod at the scandal but it was actually the Brenda does the theater storyline. It's practically ripped out of the headlines, I don't know why I didn't see it before. Brenda is the Nancy Kerrigan type and Crazy Laura is obviously Tonya Harding, who when competing for the campus play decides to ask her cooky boyfriend Steve to knock out her competition. It's almost identical except they changed the setting to a play instead of the Olympics.
