Once upon a time, in a town called Beverly Hills, the original bad boy and bad girl got together and created the first supercouple of 90210. They are considered "the most passive-aggressive, co-dependent, enabling" relationship of the 90’s decade. They're also considered to define the show, but if there's one thing that's definite about them, it's that they were intensely in love and always there for each other. They are Dylan and Brenda.

Luke; I miss working with Shannen Doherty from time to time. You know, Shannen and I mixed it up pretty good- both on-camera and off. She was always very lively. It was always very real with us. I thought that early on we did some really strong work on the show.

About the scene before Jack's funeral, I never put it together with the tie tieing thing, I always looked at it like what mel said. And him showing her his vulnerable side as well, asking for help, he crys in front of her, he lets her see him at his weakest moment, I mean this tough bad ass let her in like that on their first date...it was safe, it was familar, and probably just habit. He is going out with Kelly and even in the beginning of that episode he doesnt act the same. He's nervous because of the reporters, he's angry, he's upset, she is trying to support him but he isnt comfortable. (No anti pun intended it was just the scene, didnt have anything to do with kelly, personally) Even when Jim comes in he calms. And in my opinion he may have wanted to go there anyway. Because when Jim tells him to come home, the first thing Dylan says is thanks but Brenda has made it clear she doesnt want to have anything to do with me. Like he had thought about it. At the Walsh's he was calmer, more comfortable, the reporters were still there but he wasnt alone anymore. He was with his adoptive family so to speak. I thought it symbolized all that. That she would still be the one who would help him and support him. That even though there is a lot of sadness on both sides, considering Dylan pointed out sadly that she had taken down all his pictures and cards and stuff, that they would work through it eventually. That scene is one of my favorite BD scenes. Its so touching, and emotional. There is so much love and just the way Brenda looks at him as he is crying is heartbreaking. She looks like she just wants to hold him and acts like his girlfriend but doesnt.

Its really beyond depressing to me lol but at the same time so touching I love it.

I have been wondering about something for a while now and was hoping you guys could help...I remember reading somewhere about season 5 and Brenda and Dylan. What is the backstory on season 5? Was Shannen going to potentially stay?

I don't know why they didn't just put them together for part of season 4, it was obviously Dylan and Kelly weren't happy for most of the season.

I am pretty sure that they knew that Shannen was leaving as early as all of the Cat on a Hot Tin roof stuff. I thought I read somewhere that all of that was filmed after she knew she wasn't retuning the following season.

I think all of the S5 talk is just wishful thinking on our parts. And my theory is that they didn't put BD "together" in S4 because they wanted to build up hype for the season finale. It seems silly to even bother in the finale, but I honestly think that the writers weren't ready to close the door on a BD relationship yet and that was a way of keeping the pair connected. Same with the mentions of BD living together in London after Dylan left BH.

I'm pretty sure that most of the BD shippers will agree that BD were "supposed" to be endgame until Jason left the show and they convinced Luke to come back. I'm sure you'd get a different answer from KD shippers, but yeah. Variety is the spice of life, right?
