| Anti-Dylan/Brenda #3: BC she was attracted to the social status he would bring her. ~Welcome to the 3rd Anti Dylan & Brenda Thread~  Warning: This Thread is for those who do NOT support Dylan and Brenda as a couple. If you do support them, you probably won't like what is being said. If it's likely to offend, I suggest you don't read. Thank you Reasons/Future Thread Titles - Because they cheated on each other. - Because Dylan already has a soulmate. - Because she only whined and complained to him. - Because she called him "a perfect boyfriend" and dumped him one week later. - Because she put Rick, a man she knew for only a few days, in the role of "the ONE." - Because there was always something she never understood. - Because she dumped him for Rick. - Because she realized that she wants him only when he is with someone else (Emily, Kelly). - Because she wasn't able to say "I'm happy for you" without giving him the next "I will always love you" when he married Antonia - that's why he won't tell it her personally. - Because she dumped him for meeting other people and when she realized he did meet Stacy she totally flipped out. - Because she lied to him. - Because she patronized him. - Because she wanted to do a world travel trip with Rick - "tell it to her personally." - Because he gave her something to come back to - but she left him. - Because she had no trust in him and their relationship, and assumes he's going to jump anything that moves. - Because she had no understanding that having Jack in his life was his absolutely priority. - Because she begrudgingly went/supported him at an AA meeting. - Because he did not really believe that their relationship would have lasted longer, even if he did not fall for Kelly. - Because she had no understanding as soon as he was not concerned with her. -Because their relationship was based on fantasy/was more fantasy than reality. - Because "It's really nice to not be around someone who's brooding all the time". - Because he was never too broke for a plane ticket. - Because she really WAS just a girl he knew in H.S. - Because 'first' doesn't mean 'better'. - Because they left nothing to subtext, nuance, ... or thought. - Because she couldn't see past his stereotype for the longest time! - Brenda *WHINE* Dylan *BROOD*. Interesting! - Because their story relied on external conflict. - Because their relationship was really all about HER. - Because their relationship couldn't survive those 6 weeks apart. - Because he left her ass in London, where it belongs. - Because "I can't win with you, Brenda." - Because she had no qualms about publishing their sex life against his will. - Because he was underdeveloped, with limited emotional range, when with her. - Because they were as plastic as the dolls made of them. | The 'fantasy/reality' title all the way down to the end were the new title suggestions. For the first two seasons, Dylan and Brenda represented nothing more than cliche adolescent wishfulfilment, and that's how they were marketed. Brenda wanted dreamy/broody Dylan, her image of the 'cool bad boy' at school even though there was so much more to him.
