I don't know. Throwing the idea that Jim and Cindy might break up at us for one episode on Christmas always felt a bit cheap to me, organized to get a knee-jerk reaction. Like, yes, I know marriages can fall apart after all that time and with the added pressure of being in a foreign country. But, they're Jim and Cindy. They wouldn't give up that easy. And if so, we deserve to see the tension and alienation build.

That makes sense. I remember being shocked when I first saw that, I couldn't imagine them breaking up ever.
