Okay on 7.196 where is the song "In From the Cold" by Figures at Dawn played? I can't find this song in the video although I find a completely different song not mentioned here playing at 38 minutes in when Tiffani is dancing.

Hi I just joined the forum and I am wondering if anyone can answer this question.

Season 2 Episode The Next 50 Years Guns N Roses is credited with Knocking on Heavens Door. I think this is wrong and have searched everywhere looking for an answer.

it sounds to me like someone doing a cover of guns roses cover of knocking on heavens door. I have uploaded the clip from the show with the song so everyone can hear it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3GSxlMQeyI&t=99s

I recorded every episode off of soapnet and then digitized them and burned them to DVD back in 05 and 06. So this is not from the hulu broadcasts or the official Dvd series.

I started rewatching the series for the first time in years when I signed up to Hulu recently and immediately noticed the music was missing. It sucks but I understand it. The same happened with 21 jumpstreet in 05 when the dvd's came out. Thankfully the german boxset for that show has the original music and show in tact.

anyway I am making a top 10 music moments from the high school years video for fun and wanted to include knocking on heavens door but can not figure out the artist. Is it possible they just used some sort of unkown band as a sort of fill in production music back in 91?

Love the site and thanks for any help in advance.

I thought it may be one of the groups: EPMD, 2 Live Crew, Naughty By Nature, Public Enemy, De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest but I don't think it is any of them.
It sounds more like the rapper Too Short but I don't think it is. I think he is one of them lesser known rappers from South Central I suspect
Hi, I uploaded this clip for everyone to hear. I don't know it and was not able to find it. I uploaded it to youtube and usually it will identify music and give a copyright notice.

I'm listening to the first soundtrack right now. I'm almost embarrassed to admit it, but a few nostalgic tears rolled down my cheeks. I sort of realized that it's not just the show I'm nostalgic about.

Hi Todd. I know the track for sure but I can't picture the name of the artist - I'm kinda think it is one of the South Central rappers from the early 90s - it has the formulaic sound of west coast rap about it. I thought it was either DJ Quik, Kam, MC Eiht or Too Short but I don't think it's any of them either.
James, some songs certainly make people shed tears although I must admit that I don't think I ever shed a tear in any songs. I know some songs makes emotional impact on many people and I can see how and why. Mind you, I don't think listening to R+B and HipHop all my life will make me shed tears for obvious reasons I do enjoy the raw and naughty stuff

Thanks, Mike. I started with Shanice's "Saving Forever For You," which brought about a nostalgic smile. It was Vanessa Williams and Brian McKnight's "Love Is" that started the tears. It took me back to my childhood in the '90s, along with my old home. It's one of those nice reminders, like the kind you get when you're at a hospital, to focus on the things that really matter in life.

Of course, both of these songs were occasionally played during the end credits, along with their videos, which is probably unheard of on TV these days.

Shanice's Saving Forever For You is a beautiful song and the album which features this song is amazing.
Love Is is an absolute classic by Vanessa and Brian..I guess many songs can make even men shed tears but I don't think I've ever shed any tears on any songs.
I guess naughty R+B songs gets me in tears in another way that I will not describe on the forum

It's Thursday night over here, and I'm listening to those soundtrack songs again. This show really did give teens and preteens something special back in the day. It's hard to imagine it not being there.

If I'm honest, the soundtrack was OK nothing special. But some good songs on there though

Cardigan Song from the Episode 'Graduation Day'

Hy everyone,

I am looking for the name of a song, the Cardigans played in the episode 'Graduation Day'.

According to imdb the Cardigans have performed the songs Lovefool and Been it...this can be found on the us DVD Version as well as on YouTube.

BUT on the German DVD version the Cardigans perform another song instead of Been it.

Has anyone an idea?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Best regards,
Baki

I would like to point out a mistake in the main listing of songs used in the show.

In season 2 Episode 36 "The Next 50 Years" Knocking on Heavens door is credited to Guns N Roses.

I uploaded that clip on Youtube looking for the actual artist and I found them! The lead singer Suzi S confirmed. Her band named BOOTLEG was hired to play the Dylan song the way that GnR did so they wouldn't have to pay GnR and they owned the track so BOOTLEG had no recordings of it. Only in the show which was then removed with the cbs buy and release of the dvd's.

Anyway just wanted to point it out, the song in this segment of the next 50 years is performed by BOOTLEG.
