The Walkers Appreciation #1: Family above all

banner by Jess

Anyone else enjoying the family interaction on the show? I love how they're all so different... The perfect balance!

The Walkers are the best new family, I wish I had a family like them.

I especially enjoy when the Walkers are out at a function, or sitting down to a family dinner. Seriously, that is the best part of every episode.

I know... I love their quirkiness and all the private jokes. Like Kitty said in the finale, I don't think an outsider would fully get them.

The finale scene in the finale really summed up the Walkers, IMO. They have such a perfect dynamic. Whoever cast the show did a tremendous job!

The Walkers sort of remind me of my family. Funnier, and less girls...but still

Definitely! Speaking of the finale... I love how both pilot & the finale ended with a pool shot! Did anyone notice that?

Yep. I think it really brought season one full circle. There was a dramatic, sad event associated with the pool at the start. Then the season ends with a light, happier mood and everyone jumping in the pool. I think it hints at the changes in store for the Walker family yet it shows that their past is always present. I can't wait for another season!

Yeah, it does imply a brighter future... After all, it was only after William's death they all got closer again.

This isn't going to come out the right way, but I'm glad William died. Ok, let me explain that now. At first I was sad that we got Tom Skeritt for such a short time. Yet his death is what opened up the whole show and fueled the first season. I'm now "glad" that he died. He really did set the tone for the whole show and everyone's dynamic as they reacted to his demise.

The Walkers = That's all there is to it.

I'm glad they didn't stretch out his death... It was handled nicely in the pilot. We can always see Tom in the flashbacks.

SF and Tom Skerrit ... I definitley hope we see more flashbacks of them. I loved them in Steel Magnolias. That is why I was sad to see William die so soo.

I completely agreed. The dinner scenes are my favorite scenes as well. I am always sad if there isn't one in an episode.

I agree with everyone that dinner scenes or ones where all the family is together are great. They are so fun to watch.
