Season 2 General Discussion: What do you think of the sophomore year?

Hi y'all.

As you might have noticed, season 2 has been somewhat different from s1 and a lot of things on the show have changed - some for the better, some for the worse.

I've noticed some of those things have been mentioned in episode discussion threads and I'd definitely like to hear more opinions on the show's style this season. Besides, we could use a few more discussion threads around here.

So - voice your opinion. What do you think about this season so far? Do you enjoy the drama? Would you prefer more comedy? What about the relationships and the new triangles that have formed? Do you have a favorite episode?

I have no problem with drama on tv shows.. So that's the reasons why I like B&S and this season too.. I like the drama that we've gotten (well apart from Tommy and Lena) but I liked everything else. It's intersting, well written and just compelling to watch.

I'm still a fan of the comedy/drama balance.. perhaps that has changed a little compared to S1, but not in the way that I really noticed it or that it bothered me..

I was actually afraid that the show would suffer in its second season, because most shows do when they have a great first season and I'm glad that it's not the case for B&S. At least not IMO.

I think they're handling drama really well, but I'd like to see more comedy. We haven't had a single funny stand alone this season, and those are my faves ("Something Ida...", "Valentine's day massacre", "Game night"). It's nice that they're trying to include both drama & humor in each episode but things have been a little too dark for my taste.

The thing that I dislike the most is the addition of Lena. The Justin/Lena/Tommy triangle is wrong on so many levels. I know the network's pushing for younger characters & soapier stories but I could have done without that. That's the only thing that truly bugged me this season, it just wasn't the show's usual style so it felt off.

I agree they didn't degenerate story-wise though. They do know their drama and pull if off really well. I just wish we got a lighter episode once in a while, things have been a little too depressing with Justin's pain/addiction, Kitty's abortion, Sarah losing her kids etc...

I do agree that in a matter of a few episodes, we got some heavy stuff... So hopefully one of the next 3 episodes provide some lightness..

I totally agree with that.. It wasn't the Brothers and Sisters we knew.. which is a shame..

But despite the darkness of Justin's pain and addiction, Sarah loosing her kids and Kitty's abortion, those were the most fantastic scenes of the season so far.. They really blew me away in those scenes and touched me...

Yup, the writers & the actors really outdid themselves with those.
