A storm approaches. It's still over the horizon, but there is lightening in the air. Are either of them aware of the gathering turbulence? Can they feel that crackle of electricity in the wind, or are they aware of only the power they generate between themselves?

Sally is the reason I keep watching this show. She stands out, and it's a delight watching her every week. By far my favorite character on the show.

Please add me to the list. Nora is my favorite Walker. Sally Field can do everything from the dramatic to the comedic and she's completely believable. She is Mom.

She's unique indeed!

So, what's everyone's fave Nora scene? I have to go with the food fight. Although, all scenes from 1x13 & 1x14 ruled as well!

I ask myself every episode who got Sally Field to agree to join a primetime drama ... because that person deserves a huge pay raise! She's just so perfect in this role. I can't imagine anyone else. I love the journey that her character has taken this season. When she finally let William go you could almost feel the weight that was lifted from her heart. I hope SF gets nominated for an Emmy this year. She's been fantastic.

And to think a different Nora was originally cast... I can't imagine a show without Sally.

Really? I didn't know that. Who was originally cast? I know it's unfair to look back now b/c SF is too perfect in this role and no one else would be comparable. Yet I'm curious ...

Betty Buckley was in the original pilot. Her name wasn't even Nora (I can't recall at the moment what it was). Also, Jonathan LaPaglia was originally cast as Kevin.

That's crazy. I can't imagine ANYONE else as Nora!!! Sally Field has brought absolutely so much to the role!

Yeah, and I believe Kevin was originally divorced with a kid.

I'm glad the changes were made! The original version doesn't sound too good.
