I enjoyed the HP movie a lot. It was definitely different from the book at a lot of points. I didn't mind that, but I know it upset a lot of people. I thought it was great. It was funny and scary when it was supposed to be. All of it was really well done. I loved the Luna and Umbridge actresses.

So, now there's just a little more than a week until the book comes out. I'm going to be so depressed when I finish it.

Well, I don't mind if they change stuff, it's just that I didn't see it like that. So it's very personnal. That doesn't mean it's not good, just that I didn't find what is the HP world to me. (and I'm very protective of the books I loved)

Oh yes, it's going to be depressing, definitely. I can't believe it's the end, I feel kind of weird about it Plus, I have a feeling one of the main characters will die, and of course, I'll be crying my eyes out. My bet goes to Ron or Ginny, Harry saved the Weasleys' lives way too many times before, this time, they won't escape it

For the kids, I absolutely agree. And they destroyed the Weasley twins. But a lot of the adult actors are kick ass. I worship Maggie Smith and couldn't possibly imagine a better McGonagall. That said I really dislike the movies. I'm a total addict of the books. I just finished rereading them all in preparation of DH. The movies just feel wrong and are kind of mediocre for me.

Ack. I will not be a happy camper if one of the main three dies. I really hope she remembers that these are actually children's books despite getting much darker.

I definitely love the books the most but in this case I'm actually a big fan of the movies as well. They aren't perfect and everything/everyone definitely isn't as I pictured it and sadly alot of stuff gets left out of the movies, but nevertheless I still enjoy the movies alot.

The midnight screening was a blast last night. I loved it. I especially loved Luna Lovegood.

I'm so excited for the final book but also scared!!

I yelled when I saw your icon, to me, Luna was sooooo not blonde! She had really dark hair with strange round eyes, don't ask me why

Come to think of it, the only movie adapted from a book I liked was Pride and Prejudice. This was just a great movie, the actors were well chosen, and the landcapes were amazing, I loved it. But most of the time, I'm disappointed by the movie adaptation...

Pride and Prejudice, I love that movie!! It captures the emotions so well!

There are a lot of movies, that were originally a film, that translate really well to screen. Dracula f.e. or the Green Mile.
Not the average books you are discussing, but sometimes it translates really well..
Some just don't, and they ruin the book.

except for the blond part, the actress is really Luna, you'd be amazed she totally captured who the character is

I love Pride and Prejudice too!

The Green Mile was excellent.

It really just depends.

I'm not sure I ever pictured Luna as blonde either and I wasn't initially impressed with the casting, but she was perfection!! One of the biggest highlights of the movie for me. Loved her.

Yay for UB!! I hope you enjoy it and then please, come post on the UB Board. We'd love to see you!!

I saw HP. I loved it, but i'm not a big reader and i've only read the first book. I've decided I don't want to read the books and then watch the movies because I think I would definitely be disappointed. right now, I have a love for the movies and with time, I know that i'll love the books. JK is just amazing. I can't believe someone has an imagination like that to sit and write a book, much less 7 of them. The stories are just great.

I love the trio and I hope none of them die either. Daniel said he thinks that maybe Harry will die, but he hopes he doesn't. I hope he doesn't either.
