I can't wait for new Glee! |
Glee! I can't wait! I have two essays due Wednesday, so I may have to hold off on watching, though :/ Not cool.
I wish I had time for a marathon, but I have been listening to a lot of the songs. So excited! I'm almost done with HIMYM. I haven't really noticed it getting any worse, Stjepo. But maybe it is because I watched it all so quickly. I'm kind of disappointed with Robin/Barney. It wasn't as good as it could have been. I'm happy it's over, but it doesn't make sense for them both to just be over it if it was *love.* Oh well, I had the same complaint with Ted/Robin. |
Thanks for the new thread!
Can not wait for Glee. We were left off where things were getting soo juicy it's going to be awesome |
I'm interested to see what happens next on Glee.
I love your icon, Katie. Sue is awesome! |
Thanks, Lise! :) I've had it on hold for awhile.
I can't wait for the first big number. :sigh: And of course Mr. Shu  |

Another thing that bothers me is the repetition of the "funny". Two examples: - The Playbook episode, which consists only of explaining Barney's techniques and having a title card for each one. After the 2nd one, it already got repetitive but they insisted on doing those for the ENTIRE episode. - Lily's "you're dead to me" look in Slapsgiving 2, it was a REALLY bad way to handle the father/daughter relationship and they kept showing her "look" for like 5 times, which was unnecessary because it looked completely the same each time. The funny moment stops being funny when they beat us on the head with it. |
I thought the repetition in The Playbook was a lot funnier than Lily's look. That was just so fake and annoying. But I'm getting annoyed with stories like The Playbook and The Perfect Week. It's like has Barney really not changed a bit after being in a monogamous relationship? Like what was the point them being together at all? He certainly didn't learn anything.
But I'm still having a lot of fun watching. Marshall's growing on me. He was always the one I was like "eh" about. But I'm loving him more and more. Not looking forward to having to watch it live! Sooo Glee? What did everyone think? I loved seeing Vocal Adrenaline. And Sue was back in perfect form. :D I did hate Terri showing up. I really hate that woman. |
Barney is masking his pain and anguish by reverting to something he can't fully embrace as his own. I mean he's lying and being a playboy, basically put the wall back up.
|
That's pretty deep. Is there an episode or comment that makes you see that? Cause I've been trying and I just keep getting mad at him  Help me not be mad at him, Ken! :goof:
|
When he got into a relationship and showed his feelings for Robin, the wall came down and he came off as exposed. He lost some confidence, in those episodes, if you didn't notice. And the only way Barney thinks to get over someone, is to get under someone. That's just who he is. But his lifestyle is all about perception... the perception he gives off is not his truth. And yes I do get deep about him, But I just see he's so much more than the character who thinks he's "the man" --- it's a total act. Ironically, this week's episode showed the real Barney, as he was consciously avoiding the truth to his encounters. He lies. He holds back his emotions. That's him, in a nutshell. And Robin's the exact same way. Don't give up hope for them, I certainly didn't.

That's a good point, but they don't address that on the show, ever. You can't really make that conclusion from episodes like The Playbook.
I don't really care about the couples at this point, I just want the show to be funny again. |
I hope everyone is having a good weekend. :D

What's everyone up to? :wiggle:
