Emily VanCamp/Rebecca Harper Appreciation Thread

Biography

Already with an impressive body of work in film and television, Emily VanCamp is quickly emerging as one of Hollywood's most sought-after talents.

VanCamp starred on The WB's critically acclaimed drama Everwood opposite Treat Williams and Gregory Smith. She portrayed Amy Abbott, the sensitive beauty who quickly steals Ephram's (Gregory Smith) heart.

Next VanCamp will star as Kate in the upcoming thriller Carriers for Paramount. The film, written and directed by Alex and David Pastor, revolves around four friends trying to escape a viral pandemic in the American West who discover that they are more dangerous to one another than any virus. The film also stars Chris Pine, Piper Perabo and Lou Taylor Pucci.

VanCamp recently appeared in The Ring 2, costarring with Naomi Watts and Simon Baker. Other feature film credits include the Sundance Film Festival hit Lost & Delirious, No Good Deed, with Samuel L. Jackson, A Different Loyalty, with Sharon Stone, and Black Irish, with Michael Angarano and Brendan Gleeson. VanCamp also portrayed young Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in the miniseries Jackie O: A Life Story, and was a series regular on The WB series Glory Days.

Born and raised in Port Perry, Ontario, VanCamp has been performing as a dancer since the young age of three. At 12, she moved to Montreal after being accepted into the prestigious L'École Supérieure de Danse de Québec, the official training program of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. It was when her older sister, Katie, also a dancer, was cast as a ballerina in a film that VanCamp fell in love with acting while visiting the set.

What better way to start off a new thread than with some new pictures?

Emily attended another new event last night.

She went to the 'Environmental Media Associations launch of Organic T-Shirts by Alexx Jae.' Looks like the bangs are pretty much grown out.

It does indeed. She's always had such beautiful hair. I've thought that ever since everwood season 1. Although it looks nice both ways, I definatly think I prefur it without the bangs, she's just so beautiful that she doesn't need it.

I put together some new banners for the thread

. They're nothing spectacular. I just threw 'em together real fast. I figured they fit nicely with the new thread title. I was going for a sort of theme, if you couldn't tell

I'm glad see the bangs are growing out, too. I really hope she'll go back to the nice curls she had in S1. They really fit Rebecca. I also love the pics of her and Vanessa Lengies. They're all smiles.

I did see that pic. I didn't want to post it though because it might be considered spoilerish. But for those who can't wait until Sunday, there's a sneak peek of this week's new episode up at Brothers & Sisters - TV featuring Rebecca, Nora, and Justin that hints at what you're talking about.

Also, I found a little blast from the past. I'm not sure how many of you watched Nickelodeon as a kid, but Emily was in an episode of the old show 'Are You Afraid of the Dark?' I just happened to find a copy that someone posted on youtube of the episode she guest starred in.

Emily is only in the last minute or so of the first clip and in only one scene in the second. She's part of some weird family that lives in the sewers.

She doesn't have any lines, but it's kinda funny seeing her in such a goofy role. Oh, and for anyone wondering, yes that is Elisha Cuthbert in the show as well.

Yeah, I'm excited that they seem to finally be giving her character some direction. Now let's just hope they don't get stupid and decide to make David her real father
