I interpret it as something bad has been done by someone and as much as they want to get rid of it, it just keeps following them...almost like haunting them. The person wishes they could just take it back.

I really think it applies to any kind of situation with anyone. I can't decide who I think it's about the most. I would love to know what was really meant by it...it's really interesting.

I think it kind of talks about many situations. But knowing Isaac's history with his brother, it does sound like it could be talking about that as well. There songs appeal to so many different scenarios though!

This song is my #1 with HTSaL.
I can't explain how much it's beautiful for me ... and knowing that Joe writes it for his sister, makes it more powerful!

^I never knew that he wrote it for his sister! Where did you find that out? I'm learning so much more about the band thanks to you guys...

Heaven Forbid is definitely one of my favourites! I love the sense of hope that you get from the song. That no matter how tough it gets on, if you just hold on, everything will be ok. I know that this song has probably saved a lot of people with it's message.

Definitely a great song! To me it's about someone who is at the point where life just sucks and they just don;t want to be around but if they just have hope they can get through the rough times because there is reason to be living life.

Also didn't know it was written for Joe's sister! Thanks for that info Sofia.

What's so funny is how so many people relate to this song in particular.
I was reading through a discussion on another board about it and out of 16 comments about 9 mentioned how it was like a song about them.
I think that kind of transedence is so crucial and the Fray really has it! AMAZING!

) history with his brother for inspiration and overall, that honesty is really valuable to them because it draws people in!

'Heaven Forbid' may well be my favourite song on this album!
I love everything about it...the vocals, the lyrics, and the instrumentation.

Very interesting to hear that it was written for a family member.
