Shutter Island #1 (Spoilers)

I hope there isn't already a thread about this film. I don't think so.
I know the movie won't be released before 2009 but I thought it would be great to open a thread about it.

The filming started March 3, in Massachussets. I have found some pictures of the shooting of the movie. No Leo pictures yet :
Filming pictures

And a short video on Youtube about the shooting : YouTube - Shutter Island Footage

It's a little bit off topic, but, Leo attended a conference in Hong Kong last sunday. Here is the link to the video : YouTube - Green steps take DiCaprio to HK

Here are some photos of him at the conference (you can notice his hair is slightly shaved off on each side of his head) : Corbis: photography, rights, motion.

I don't think it's a spoiler, but, have you noticed Leo's haircut on the photos of the conference? It looks a lot like the haircut of the soldiers on the pics of the shooting of Shutter Island. Apparently, in the movie, there'll be some flashbacks on World war 2 camps. Maybe we'll see Leo's character in those flashbacks.

Here's what the story of Shutter Island is about :

In a masterful departure from the Boston-based hard-boiled mysteries he's known for, New York Times bestselling author Lehane (Mystic River) offers an atmospheric psychological thriller set in a 1950s asylum for the criminally insane. In 1954, U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels and his new partner, Chuck Aule, have come to Shutter Island, home of Ashecliffe Hospital, to investigate the disappearance of a murderer, Rachel Solando, loose somewhere on the remote and barren island. As a killer hurricane bears relentlessly down on them, a strange case takes on even darker, more sinister shades with hints of radical experimentation, horrifying surgeries, and lethal countermoves. Nothing is what it seems and Teddy begins to doubt everything his memory, his partner, even his own sanity.

Seems interesting! Another good movie to look forward to!

There's a pretty interesting cast too : Ben Kingsley, Mark Ruffalo, Michelle Williams... : Shutter Island (2009)

The book is amazing and when I found out it was being turned into a Scorsese/DiCaprio film I was sold! Lehane's books have been those rare exceptions to in turn, also make great films (I loved Mystic River, still have to see Gone, Baby, Gone), so I'm sure this will rock. The cast is amazing, I can't wait!

I have to read the book too. The funny thing is, a few months ago (when I didn't know it would be a movie) I had almost bought it! I was hesitating between two books, and... now I think I should have bought it! lol
The storyline looks great and from the reviews I've read about this book so far, it seems everyone loves it!

I hope you all enjoy the book once/if you read it. I'm sure the movie's gonna rock! You can't go wrong with Scorsese/DiCaprio.

You can find it at Amazon.com. Seems it was published for the first time in May 2003. Two new editions (2004 & 2006).

She is still in the credited cast : Shutter Island (2009)
I hope she's still doing it. She's a good actress.
