Last Monday, we witnessed the brutal and callous death of Dr. Sara Tancredi on the FOX drama Prison Break. The death concludes months of rumours and speculation as to the status of Sarah Wayne Callies, and confirms her sudden and unceremonious exit from the show which has benefited greatly from her luminous screen presence and heartfelt portrayal of Dr. Sara.

In the aftermath of that shocking development, Matt Olmstead, Executive Producer of Prison Break, attempted (but failed) to justify the reasons for the demise and the reasons behind the departure of Sarah Wayne Callies, in an interview which appeared on TV Guide online.

Prison Break writer Nick Santora, in his various messages posted in an online forum, likewise attempted to defend this appalling plot twist and in the process only succeeded to further alienate fans of Dr. Sara/Sarah with his dismissive replies and insensitive messages.

To add insult to injury, it was recently revealed by Matt Olmstead that Dr. Sara will soon be “replaced” in the heart and mind of Michael Scofield when a new love interest named Molly is introduced later this season.

Devoted fans of Dr. Sara, Sarah and the Michael-Sara relationship are dismayed and disgusted at the disrespect afforded to our beloved character, our much-admired actress, and the onscreen relationship which we have loved and cherished in the past two years. This is clearly evident from the outpouring of indignation, anger and resentment towards Fox, the Prison Break producers and the powers that be in various Prison Break forums, message boards and communities on the internet.

As loyal fans of Dr. Sara, Sarah and the Michael-Sara relationship, the members of the Save The Good Doctor Community, the Michael and Sara Livejournal community, MichaelandSara.org and have decided to initiate various efforts to make our sentiments known to Fox, to the Prison Break producers and the people responsible for this incomprehensible decision which has left many fans disappointed and betrayed.

One such project is to compile all our sentiments and thoughts on this Dr. Sara/Sarah issue and send these compiled thoughts via snail mail to the people concerned. To participate in this project (which I not-so-fondly dub "SCREW FOX! unless someone comes up with a better, less-obvious name suggestions are welcome), here are the instructions:

1. Write your sentiments about this issue. Just write what you feel, if you feel like cussing and cursing at Fox, that’s fine. It doesn’t have to be perfect English, as long as you are able to convey what you feel. In the past few days, I’ve noticed quite a number of livejournal entries and forum posts where the reactions of fans about these issues have been expressed quite eloquently, those entries are perfect for this project.

2. After you’ve written your thoughts, we request that you “sign” your written words in this manner:

Name, Location (for example: Jane Doe, Chicago, Illinois)

We feel that our sentiments may get more attention if we identify ourselves, also the producers will be aware that the fanbase of Sara/Sarah/Michael-Sarah is widespread. If you’re uncomfortable with revealing your names, you may also sign in this manner:

Email address OR website address, Location

3. Send your signed written sentiments to us by: (1) email to guinevere_79@yahoo.com OR (2) post your thoughts in the comments section of this post OR (2) if you’ve already written your thoughts on this issue elsewhere (like in your LJ, in some forum like TWoP, or in the comments to the TV Guide interview), post a link to your thoughts in the comments section of this post. Don’t forget to sign your written sentiments! Don’t worry, we promise to respect your anonymity.

4. The compiled sentiments will be printed and sent to the concerned network, producers and writers of the show via courier. The sooner we make our sentiments known, the better. So the deadline for submitting your written sentiments will be on MONDAY, OCTOBER 15. We hope to have everything compiled, printed and sent by WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 17.

5. After we’ve sent everything, the compiled version will be posted online (I am currently making arrangements for a website to host this), so that those interested to read others’ thoughts may freely do so.

We request that you spread the word to as many fans you feel will be interested to participate. Success of fan initiatives lies in the numbers and the strength of our resolve.
