THE tables have been turned on a group of photographers whose clash with actor Leonardo DiCaprio's security team in Jerusalem resulted in the arrest of two of his bodyguards by Israeli police.

The two security guards detained for questioning after yesterday's incident were released without charge, but several of the paparazzi involved in the fracas were then ordered to keep their distance from DiCaprio and his Israeli girlfriend, Bar Refaeli, his New York-based spokesman said today.

Grainy video footage circulating on the internet showed photographers swarming a white van that picked up DiCaprio and supermodel Refaeli as they emerged from a private tour at the Western Wall, which is Judaism's holiest site, in Jerusalem's walled Old City.

"The paparazzi went completely insane. They actually caused damage to the van," DiCaprio's publicist, Shawn Sachs, said.

Israeli police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said yesterday that two of DiCaprio's security guards were arrested "after being involved in a fight that broke out" and were being questioned.

According to Mr Sachs, the two were later freed without charge, and authorities issued a restraining order against several of the photographers involved.

DiCaprio, a three-time Oscar nominee, arrived in Israel earlier this week for a visit amid much fanfare by the Israeli media.

He recently starred in the Academy Award-winning crime drama The Departed.

I've never heard about it before but then again I have never been much of a newsfreak. I'm glad he's okay and that his bodyguards were released. I'm sure that they were just doing their job, I don't know. It's scary how obsessive these paparazzis are.

yeah those paparazzis don't care about anybody but themself and getting the right picture so they can get a lot of money.. sometimes I would think how coll it woul be to be famous but on the other side al those people who want something from you.. I don't think I could handle that..

Not many people would. Just look at Britney (poor thing). I'm just so sad that for some reason Leo is one of those people that are constantly haunted by the press whereas Kate winslet isn't as hot news, I think.

I hadn't heard about the incident and I'm still not sure what it was about, I think I'm too tired to understand anything right now.

But all I will say is that I hate paparazzis and I don't know how anyone can do a work that despicable. I sure hope they stop chasing Leo, although I understand why they choose to target him, he is a huge mega star known all around the world so his pics are very wanted. But hopefully he's able to avoid them and if they do find him, he has all the right to cover his face to make the pics worthless, those paparazzis should get decent jobs.

So how's everyone's Leo appreciation going?
