I told my mom yesterday while we were out that I am looking for a copy of Brazil. Hmm who knows maybe for my birthday she also was talking to me about Jabberwocky, I also showed her the book I wanted. Micheal Palin Diaries They Python Years. That is a heavy read... Im sure I will finish it in no time though. I glanced at the photos in there, some really nice ones.

Jonesy, I have Michael's diaries. I bet it took me less than a month to read. I'm the kind of person that once I can't put a good book down, I read for hours. The photos are really cool. There are some great ones with the Pythons and then some with family. Some really cute ones of the kids. A lot of the entries are fun to read when it comes to what was going on on the set of certain movies, or diffrent projects that he was working on at the time. It will be interesting to read about 'Brazil' when the next set of diaries comes out.

Hell I am still reading the Diaries. But then the amount of time I get to myself to read what with the daughter, the crappy marriage etc. I am lucky to be in the 400 pages somewhere right now since I began reading it at the beginning February.
Back to Terry G, What is up with his obsession with cages or using them as imagry/ visual factors of control?
Any thoughts???

Good question, which I have no answer for. I have noticed that myself, in just Python cartoons even. Maybe a childhood thing?

Great Docs Ya Ya

The thing about the cages... in Time Bandits the midgets swing from cage to cage trying to escape. The cages hanging in a large, voidish space of blackness. In Brazil the lady in the Dream sequence is confined into a cage with very dark and walled stuctures. In Adventures of Baron Munchausen the Baron and Sally meet up with Berthold while trapped in one of the Kings cages on the moon.

Ditto, me too mrsbh.

Whoa. gotta bump Terry up to the front!

He's an awesome artist. I didn't realize he did the ones of Eric, Terry, and Mike above. I'm guessing that's from 'Do Not Adjust Your Television Set,' right?
