I figured it might be a little bit easier if we just had one thread dedicated to the Say Ok video, since we're talking about it in so many places around the board already.

Since there's two different Say Ok videos, here's the link to both.

Woo! Finally, it'll be less confusing this way

I kinda realised something thinking about the tour video and v.2...they're both very darkly lit. Like the lighting is kinda dark and pensive. I mean the song is a bit slower and has that moody kinda feal to it, but I'm wondering what it would look like brighter?

Vanessa looked absolutely gorgeous and did a wonderful job.

Good question, Bec. I don't know whether it'd change the vibe of the whole vid but it'd definitely change whether or not we could see things more easily, I think

I loved that bit! Those looks between them were so adorably cute

There's this one bit where she's doing a solo sing...just after Zac's slid on his knees from bowling and she says "who keeps calling up the boys" and she does this little eyebrow raise and look. So cute. I want an icon of that bit

I'm so glad there's two versions of Say Ok. I do love the concert tour one, and there's lots of pensive!Vanessa in it, but the story with the second one is awesome, and really does go well with the song.

Plus, CBTM wasn't like a real video either in terms of having a storyline. So I'm glad we finally got one with a story.

I'd never really thought of it until AM at LJ mentioned it but now I kinda figure it would really change the mood of the clip. I think the dark lighting fits because they're both shy and the relationship is new and Vanessa is afraid to give into the feelings between them? So the lighting reflects her pensive mood?

I agree

The concert version kinda gives off the vibe that she's missing someone...which isn't quite with the lyrics. Whereas the 2nd one reflects the lyrics much better

But not like a litteral translation either which is good.

CBTM would've been awesome with a bit more of a story line.

Yeah, I think that's probably the case. It definitely works for the song. it would be odd for the video to be really light, since light = happy, and Say Ok isn't one of those songs that screams happy. But, it's not sad either.

Its an in between mood with the lightning. I think it also has to do with how we the audience perceive it, as thought its something were not meant to be watching and that we're just viewing this private relationship that they have. If the video had been brighter it would of felt more inviting and open which I don't think was the mood they were going for.

Definitely in the concert tour version we get this impression of a period in her life where things are changing around her and she needs someone to tell her its okay when she's under a lot of stress but then in the Zac one we got the impression that it was about their relationship, ect.

Me too! We the hair and that outfit I thought she looked so much younger, like she actually looked like she was 18 rather then looking like she was much older.

Exactly. I think the perfect word to describe the clip is "pensive"

I loved all outfits bar the glittery jacket

I really liked the jacket she wore to the diner. And the stripy top...so just right for bowling. Like not overly dressed but still nice and casual.

With the concert video, you definitely do get that impression. Especially with all the people surrounding her, and the signs from the fans, and all the shots of her in the bus moving around. It's like her whole life has changed because of HSM, and she just needed someone with her.

Yeah, I loved all the outfits, besides that glittery thing.

I wonder why we couldn't see the leather jeans though?
