NGL, I was kind of rooting for Chloe to take Emma's spot. ABC family isn't exactly Disney but it still has a tween/teen stigma attached to it. I would have liked to have someone not connected to a tween/teen network honestly.

Not really excited of Ashley's casting but I don't hate it either.

I'm sure all the girls will do a great job, I just think that it will make the movie that much harder to sell. Hearing the plot and knowing which girls were cast...people are going to automatically think of this movie as a joke before they even see it.

I just saw them over at TH today.

In Style comes out on the 10th but I don't think she is famous enough to land the March cover of that magazine yet.

Nylon or Interview would be cool but honestly...

we have yet to have one US photoshoot for V and the movie comes out in less than 2 weeks

The March issue of VF is considered the Hollywood Issue, but honestly I would be really suprised if she landed that cover with other actors/actresses.

V has had a cover for every one of her movies. She even landed Lucky (different demo) for one of her movies so I don't know why she doesn't appear to have a US cover at all.

I wonder if its possible that V is sharing a cover of a magazine with someone...multiple covers. Sort of like how Glamour had Leighton/Megan/Zoe on a cover and sort of like how all the SP girls had Nylon covers.

honestly, if she doesn't have a cover I'm going to be really sad...the younger Kardashian sibling who don't do much of anything except model on occassion manage to land a cover but V can't

V has always had a major cover. And its not like Journey 2 was moved to February 10th at the last minute...its had this date set for awhile

its just sad honestly...she might not have a major mag cover for a movie and the fashion blogs don't really mention her much anymore and when they do they are usually talking about how bad she looks

she is famous enough to land spots on two late night shows but she doesn't have a major cover? What is up? Brit managed to land Selena a Cosmo cover even though her album has been out for awhile, while V has yet to cover that magazine for some reason.

I can assure you no one who is anyone is taking this movie as a joke - perhaps a bit more research on Harmony is in order. No one take anything Harmony does as a joke - no matter how avant guard or odd, people in the industry pay attention and watch not only his movies but the actors in them. The industry is as fascinated with who he puts in his movies and his motives as they are with the often unusual plot lines.

Chloe Sevigny and Rosario Dawson owe the birth of their film careers to him - he put both unknowns in their first films. Lets not forget Johnny Depp, Samantha Morton, Werner Herzog and others who have been directed by Harmony. Franco wants in on this project because he knows the rep of this admitted unusual but visionary director who casts his movies very deliberately

I assure you Harmony could cast Minnie Mouse, the Little Mermaid and Cinderella in Spring Breakers and the industry will be watching, critiquing and discussing yet another Harmony Korine cinematic ride.

So if you think this film will be a joke to anyone but the usually haters and pseudo film fans on the internet you are very mistaken.

I don't know where you got the impression that I think of this film as a joke. And I have never said anyone in the industry will think of the film as a joke. I'm talking about the ignorant people out there who don't do any research at all. The people who don't know anything about Harmony Korine or the types of movies he makes. The people that think this movie will be just like any other tween/teen movie just b/c of the cast.

Hollywood knows all about Harmony and the types of movies he makes. I'm not talking about the industry (casting directors, bloggers, directors, producers, etc) I'm just talking about the genuine public. The fact that Deadline even felt the need to report on this casting shows Hollywood is paying attention and doesn't think of this movie as a joke.

Now once the movie comes out, I'm sure a lot of people will change their minds. But you are still going to have people that won't even give the film a chance at all just b/c of the cast alone. It's annoying when you see people state that this film is going to be Monte Carlo 2.0 not realizing that this movie was written and is being directed by the guy who wrote the NC-17 Kids.

Don't think a cover per se is a big deal, tho I should hope she did at least one spread. Even Josh and the Rock don't have covers and no one can say they're not popular. For a kid's movie, WB might not feel that the magazine buying crowd is the necessary demo and chose to spend their money on the international promo tour instead.

^ tbh I agree I don't see her not getting a magazine cover as that big of a deal. I'd rather her have one for discussing her more grown up movies like TFG and GS instead.

though Josh did get the cover of Nylon guys btw - Josh Covers Nylon Guys Magazine | Josh Hutcherson News - though that my just be an early start for Hunger Games promo that worked out for J2 promo as well

I don't watch PLL and I've never seen Ashley in anything, but if casting chose her they must have a reason. Though as Erin has mentioned, I hope the general public (or the ignorant part of that public) won't just brush the film off as being another tween flick.

However, I think the fact that James Franco is in it will hopefully make people think twice and give them more incentive to check it out, if four young girls aren't appealing enough to do so.
