For all those new to the fanfiction scene, below is a list of stories that are considered to be of high quality and “must reads” to start you off on your journey through the wonderful land of fanfiction.

The list is broken up into the relevant categories, and then further broken up into groups depending on whether the story has been completed, in the process of being written (and the frequency of updates/last time updated), or just oneshots.

I would like to point out a few things about the following list of stories.

1. All stories below are there because we think they are of high quality and are ones you should definitely check out. Regardless of how old the story is or how frequently the story is updated; they’re all good stories, so don’t just skip over all the stories that aren’t frequently updated, because I promise that you will be missing out on an amazing story. We wouldn't have listed the story if it wasn't.
2. Several of the stories have a strike through them. This means that at the current time the story is unavailable to be read, but will be up again at some point.
3. Whilst the list below is quite extensive, that does not mean that it contains every single high quality, “must read” story out there. You might find that you favour different writing styles to the ones listed below, in which case I’d suggest that the best way to find other stories you might like is to check out the favourite authors and stories listed by the authors that you do like. There are other ways of finding good stories, so don’t think that just because the story isn’t listed below, that it isn’t a good story.
4. Some of the stories that were previously listed in the opening post (OP) have been deleted because they no longer existed on the server they had been posted on, or led to an inconclusive place (i.e. FanFiction.Net deleted the story, it led to a locked LiveJournal page, so on and so forth). No offense is made to be taken from the deletion. If you remember a story that was previously listed and have seen posted it elsewhere, share it with the thread, and further steps can be taken from there.

I can't wait to hear this conversation between Troy and his "parents."

It really does suck for Jason and Chad, and in a way I do sympathize and understand why they'd turn to each other rather than Chad venting to Troy; Troy got the best possible outcome of finding out he was a were. I find it noble that both are trying to stay loyal to their first loves, I just wonder if Chad can deny his mate long enough to find a cure.

And I never get tired of seeing just how devoted Troy and Gabi are to each other, and I really do love that Troy is so committed to taking care of all of her needs no matter what, and can even sense them before she tells him.

And I've liked the departures from the original story so far, especially this chapter. I don't remember getting this step-through of the development of the physical side of their relationship before - I kinda remember them just jumping in. This makes more sense.

Gabriella is some kind of saint in this story I swear. First hooking Abby up with her mother for treatment, and now more than likely going to be there for her as she undergoes treatment. I wonder what Abby will think if she ever finds out the convoluted ties between herself, Gabi and Troy. I also wonder how Troy will feel when he finds out how involved with Abby's treatment Gabriella will likely become.

So I was really glad she actually voiced her fears to him and didn't hold that back. And I really liked Troy's answer. Unfortunately it will take more than his reassurances that he's only in love with her and he won't mess it up; Gabriella's gotta find that place in herself that trusts him absolutely.

I'm a little wary of his reaction to Bradin's one-on-one with the UCLA dude though. He's not gonna be happy about that.

Yay for more Puppy Love chapters going up too! I really did miss that story.

This conversation with Troy and his dad is really going to be interesting. I wonder how much he knows, or if Jack is a Were too.

I feel so sorry for Jason and Chad that they're mates aren't who they wanted. But Troy was trying to be the most understanding friend he could given the circumstances, and they just threw that back at him.
