For all those that are new to the fanfiction scene, below is pretty long list of fanfics that most of us would recommend you read to get you started. The list is spilt up into HSM and Zac/Vanessa fics, and then further broken down into groups depending on whether they're completed, in the process of being written or just one shots, so you can pick and choose which ever ones you like.

There are a lot of fics that don't exist anymore in the OP as I reported last time a thread was opened, not just those ones... okay so last time I suggested a category of 'In Progress, not updated in a year' and now I suggest 'fics that have been deleted but we read so we don't want to get rid of them.'

Kate - don't you just love beta comments? Sometimes I wish that I could publish drafts so that people could see that back layer of work and hilarious editor-writer conversation that goes on in the making of a chapter
