I was going to post this last night but nobody else posted in the thread and I didn't want to double post.

Disney just announced some release dates for future Marvel properties yesterday. I'm really optimistic that they will announce what they are at D23 on August 20th.

Disney has dated one of its future but unspecified Marvel movies for May 16, 2014, and another for June 27, 2014. The studio isn't saying yet which Marvel movies will claim those dates. So far, Avengers is dated for May 4, 2012, Iron Man 3 is May 3, 2013, and Thor 2 is July 26, 2013.

I was going through a lot of Marvel articles and noticed that Kevin Feinge has been talking a lot about Hank Pym aka Ant Man. In fact, there was a reference to him in the Thor script that was taken out.

Collider: One of the things that I know by looking at the trailers and some of the footage that you released awhile ago is that there are definitely deleted scenes for Thor. How much stuff did you guys cut to get your two hour running time and is Marvel ever looking into doing extended editions on home video? Feige: What are you remembering? I think a few shots of the Destroyer and I was talking to [co-producer] Craig Kyle and he was mentioning to me that there might have been a reference to Hank Pym in the movie that might’ve been taken out. Feige: That scene is in the movie. Literally the only thing we took out were the words “Hank Pym”. It was when Selvig, Darcy, and Jane are on the roof and S.H.I.E.L.D. has just taken all of their stuff. Darcy is complaining about her laptop and Jane is going, “Who the hell are these guys anyway?” Selvig then tells a story, which is clearly alluding to Bruce Banner, that he knew a gamma scientist and this thing happened and S.H.I.E.L.D. came up, which he had never heard of again. Selvig may or may not have all of his facts straight on that, but those are the rumors that go around the science world there. He goes, “I have a friend who has had experiences with these people. Let me email him.” That friend is Hank Pym. But we took out “Hank Pym” because it felt like, “Banner! Hank!” We were just like, “Enough.”

I think that Ant Man probably has one of those release dates. And just like The Runaways, it also has a director...Edgar Wright.

the reason I'm bringing up Ant Man is b/c I think V can play one of the characters in Ant Man, Janet van Dyne aka The Wasp. In the Ultimate Marvel continuity, Janet is portrayed as having Asian decent. So technically, we have 2 potential Marvel movies vs. one.

Yes, I do hope we hear something soon because the anticipation and silence is killing me. Hopefully she will film another action movie because I wanted to see more of her in Sucker Punch. Action is her genre. Then maybe a rom com or thriller/suspense later down the line.

I also hope she's working on something with marvel. I'd take a small role from any of the upcoming movies to be honest in 2013/2014. My fingers are crossed.

The more potential Marvel movies we have the better. The only thing that would suck about V doing them is that the release dates are forever away.

^which is why she needs to get in a movie with Fox...

In Time and The Sitter filmed shortly before Journey 2 and one is coming out in October and the other one is scheduled for December (it was pushed back though...supposed to be late summer). Fox has such a quick turn around when it comes to movies with few special effects.

V would have Journey 2 at the beginning of 2012. I'm expecting GS to have 2 release dates (indies festivals at beginning of 2012 and then a wide relese once it gets a distributor in fall). Then she could squeeze in another movie before Journey 2/GS promo starts. Then do a supporting role/indie before the potential Marvel movie starts with a vacation crammed in there somewhere. Take a break after the Marvel movie and do another indie.

Empire Big Screen ‘11: Drew Pearce Says ‘The Avengers’ Put ‘Runaways’ On Hold, Hopes For 2012 Start > The Playlist Writer Drew Pearce has quickly moved up the ladder to become of the most sought after scribes for comic fare. Pearce broke out as the producer/writer of the British superhero comedy “No Heroics” and has since landed a couple of high profile gigs, co-writing “Iron Man 3” with director Shane Black and penning the DC Comic “The Mighty” for Paramount. But before both of these, Pearce had readied a script for “The Runaways,” a Marvel movie that was gearing up to shoot last year with Peter Sollet (”Raising Victor Vargas,” “Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist”) directing before being taken off the slate in the fall. It seems two superhero team-up movies were a bit much for Marvel to take on all at once. In case you’re not familiar with comic, created by “Lost” writer Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona, “The Runaways” follows five L.A. teenagers who discover their parents are actually a group of supervillains, The Pride, who control the Californian criminal underworld. Discovering their own special abilities, they go on the run and work to bring down their parents. We sat in on screenwriting panel with Noel Clarke, Stuart Hazeldine, Jeremy Drysdale and Pearce, and the latter revealed “The Runaways” is just awaiting a signal from Marvel to move ahead. “Basically, ‘The Avengers’ came along and everything else at Marvel got put on hold for a year. But the script is there, we’re good go,” Pearce said. “It’s kind of like [being] at the airport when you’re waiting for your slot to take off with Marvel, and we’re hoping we get a slot next year. Fingers crossed. They’re very happy with it, so hopefully it happens.” Marvel has seen a bit of movement lately on a number of their second-tier titles such as “Ant-Man,” “Guardians Of The Galaxy” and “Dr. Strange” so it remains to be seen where “The Runaways” is on the priority list. The studio recently pegged two release dates—May 16, 2014 and June 27, 2014—for two yet to be announced films. Could one of them go to “The Runaways” or the other aforementioned projects? Guess we’ll have to wait and see. But with D23 just around corner, a bunch of Marvel announcements are likely to arrive so stay tuned. No word yet on if Sollett is still attached to direct.

The writer just basically confirmed that the only thing this movie needs is the green light from Marvel (if it is one of the chosen ones, he can't exactly spoil it before D23 . It's ready to go. I really could see this movie being given one of the possible release dates in 2014. If I had to pick a date, I would give The Runaways the May 2014 release date. Since the movie is about a group of superhero teens, releasing the movie right after school gets out would be perfect. Iron Man 3 and The Runaways both take place in LA and there is an issue where The Runaways meet Iron Man. It would be cool a cool way to gear up interest in the The Runaways if there is a cameo from them in Iron Man 3 or a mention somewhere. It also helps that The Runaways writer wrote the Iron Man 3 script. He would be plugging 2 projects in one movie if he mentions The Runaways in Iron Man 3.
