So yeah, I finally saw it for the first time and I'm instantly in love with Gabriella

I kept waiting for the song that Phil from Modern Family sang in the pilot episode. I don't know how many of you know what I'm talking about, but the dad goes, "I'm the cool dad. I know all the songs to High School Musical." Then they cut to him singing "We're all in this together," and doing the dance, and the kids are like

But it was worth it getting there cuz I thought it was definitely worthy of having the appeal and crazy enthusiasm it got when it first came out. Although I still can't consider myself a fan of it, I'm glad I had the experience of watching it. It wasn't like, "I can't believe anyone would like this. It's not even quality," like I would be for...other things that are out there. So I'm glad I gave this a chance, but we all know the chance wouldn't have been given if it wasn't for Vanessa and her badass Blondie! Now I'm like, show me anything she was ever in cuz she is THE WOMAN OF THE CENTURY and all the haters and doubters, or those who still haven't taken notice, need to shut their trap and watch out for her cuz she is AMAZING and MAGNIFICENT and all other words that mean the same thing as those words.

It always excites me people who wouldn't usually watch it watch it. What SP is to you, that's what HSM is to me (especially - mainly - the first one). It changed my life and without Gabriella Montez I doubt I would even know who Vanessa Hudgens is. Thank you Kenny!

With a quote like that, how can teens not be drawn to it when it's sooooo true for all of us at that age? In my case, I feel like it literally happened. My old self died after my freshman year of HS and I became a brand new person, hence my reason for no longer associating with my birth name.

Back then I only had Eminem and other rappers to hold me steady, but then I found my other heroes, and now with "Sucker Punch" I am definitely a complete person.

Like I said, I can see why it reached the level of fame that it received, and I'm glad it was more than just something to obsess over during a phase of your lives. It actually made your life better, and there's nothing better than that.

Her character really is so relatable - I know I instantly catered toward her because she reminded me of myself a little bit; the whole 'bookworm'/good student, all the moving, the shyness when it comes to guys.

The movie has helped me through some truly rough times; I can pop it in and instantly feel loads better thanks to Gabriella and the whole gang.

Same here. I found it at a time where everything seemed to be tossed upside down in my life, and id just sit and watch it over and over and over and over and over again cause it totally took me away from reality. Such a welcomed break from life. and I just fell in love

The fact that Gabriella is so relatable is definitely what makes her so appealing to most.

Almost everyone is scared on their first day, and you don't really want to rock the boat for fear of getting unwanted attention.

I liked that right away the movie introduced Troy and Gabriella by way of their parents. Immediately we knew what their situation was, who they were with their parents, and the fact that they even had parents. So many times in HS movies, I have to stop and go, "Where the F are the parents??!!!!"
