Snow Patrol - Up To Now Album Discussion #1: 'Just Say Yes' to this collection of Snow Patrol's musical history to date!

Over fifteen years and five studio albums, the part Scottish, part Irish five piece have sketched heart-bruised ballads (Set Down Your Glass) and arm-around-your-best-mate festival anthems (Run); radio hits (Chasing Cars) and moments of painful introspection (You Could Be Happy). All of these have been gathered together for Up To Now - a thirty track, double album of singles, cover versions, rarities, album tracks and a handful of new songs as well as compositions by the Reindeer Section an indie supergroup featuring members of Scotlands guitar elite - Belle and Sebastian, Idlewild and Teenage Fanclub among many others and co-ordinated by Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody.

‘Just Say Yes’ is one of three new tracks to feature on the Patrol’s forthcoming album ‘Up To Now’, set for release on the 9th November. The new single will be released a week before the album on November 2nd.

How pretty with the cool font and colours, I love it!

Thanks for addding the vid & info for "Just Say Yes" - great idea.

Now we can access it easily, whenever we want to watch it or have a listen.

I can't wait to receive my copy of this album!

Thanks, I thought that everything we had on Just say yes should be in here too.

I will have to wait till 9th of November to get my copy, but I cant wait either.

Aaah, that's why it looks so good! You matched the text and the album art, nicely done!

I didn't consciously realize that until you mentioned it.

There's a lot to look forward to on here - very excited to hear the other two new tracks, plus the new version of 'Olive Grove' and the live recordings, and I don't have 'PPP' in its entirety.

It's nearly October already, so November won't be too far off!

Thats the one im most excited for as well.

And the songs from the Reindeer section as well.

Yeah, only a little over a month away.

Im a little bummed about You could be happy not being on that list, its my all time favourite SP song!

Well, I'm glad you found a font that fit your style, for what you had in mind.

I do love the original 'Olive Grove' so, so much...I'm sure the new version will be lovely, too.

One of the Reindeer Section songs - "Cartwheels" - was featured in the movie Aurora Borealis, in case you've seen that one with Joshua Jackson.

Yeah, it's too bad "You Could Be Happy" didn't make it onto the album...it's so beautiful, a real treasure from these guys.

Im too fussy for my own good. Btw I just discovered that we can use all the fonts of FF, even the ones that arent mentioned in the list. I wish i'd known that earlier. :/

I love the original one too, but im looking forward to the new version. I wish they'd redo some of their other songs too. Not really remix it, cuz im not a fan of that, but perform the song differently, you know?

I havent seen that movie. I will check it out on YT. It must be there.

I was quite shocked that it didnt make the list,

but then, they wanted to have a variety there, and they have so many great songs, picking some and leaving others out couldnt have been easy.

That's why we'll just have to watch some Reworked Tour concert vids somehow, to hear how they perform the songs.

Good luck finding the film, or bits of it.

I hear ya...they could've easily added another full CD with great songs on it! I'm guessing that they had to make some tough decisions.

It really couldnt have been easy, like Gary said. choosing a few songs wouldve been like choosing between your own kids. So yeah, while im bitter about my fave song not being there on the list, im happy it does have a lot of awesome stuff. It isnt their fault that almost all their stuff is brilliant.

Only a few weeks till the album is out.

I cant wait to get my copy, even though I already have half the songs on it.

It's true, so much of SP's material is brilliant, like you said...I don't know how they were able to choose the tracks for this collection, but I guess they had to do it somehow.

Woohoo, the album's release date is so soon now! I'm sooo excited to get my box of goodies.
