Hello everyone,

It pains us to announce that we've decided to close down the Snow Patrol board.

Our post counts have been struggling for quite some time, and with mostly just the two of us posting, it’s been difficult to maintain the required minimum traffic.

Hence, our options: either close the board on our own terms, or wait until it is inevitably forced to close due to low post counts. Bottom line, we never wanted this board to be forced into closure, so we came to this difficult decision.

So, we’ll start at the beginning…

Many thanks to everyone who voted to have this board set up in the first place.

People coming together with a passion for this band and their music was an exciting thing, and we're so thankful that we had the fanbase and the opportunity to get this board started.

Our deepest thanks to every single person who posted on this board.

Whether you visited one time or became a regular, all of you were appreciated – honestly, we couldn’t have done it without you!

We’d also like to thank all the MST members who have helped us out at one point or another.

In addition to being friendly and fun to post with, you were an important part of this board’s continuity.

We give our heartfelt and sincere thanks to Cat, a former moderator here, for all the time and dedication she gave to this board. She is an excellent mod, and we were lucky to have her.

We’ve had many great discussions about our boys and their music, and we’ve cherished everyone's enthusiasm and insights. We looked after a wonderful and special board with heart!

On a more personal note, it is extremely difficult for us to say goodbye to this board because we're still such fans of these guys and because we genuinely enjoy each other's company. It was always a complete joy to watch over this board and discuss our favourite band with each other and with other fans. Seeing the board grow and now seeing it about to be closed down is heartbreaking, but it looks to be a logical step when considering the reality. We're going to miss this place terribly.

Thank you to everyone who stops in here to say goodbye, we are grateful…keep those Snow Patrol tunes rockin!

I'm sorry about losing this board.

I can imagine how hard it is to let go of something that's been part of your life for a long time and you've dedicated a lot of your time and love to. At least you go down on your own terms, though I don't know if that's making it any easier.

I'll be listening to some Snow Patrol tonight in honor of this board.

This board was amazing and you as mods where just terrific

It's really tough for me, having been here since the beginning.

Mel, thanks for understanding, I'm sure you can imagine how tough it was for us to come to this decision.
We're still ever grateful for your help over the last half year or so, you've been a star.

I hope so, too - I'll still try and visit your board when I get some time.

Yvonne, thanks again for the lovely arts, they look great!

You're so sweet, thank you for all you've contributed here.

I feel very grateful to have met the 3 of you - it probably wouldn't have happened, had it not been for this board - thank you so much for your kind words!

Just like with everyone else, you two are so lovely and kind to stop by and say a few words in here, it's very much appreciated

...and now I'm getting all emotional again.

This board was one of my 'safe' places on

...it's so hard to let go of all the great times I've experienced here with other SP fans. So much love in here, for each other and for the band...I'm just so glad that most people agreed this board was friendly, welcoming, and a fun place to rave about SP.

This was a great place, with very nice people to talk to. I haven't been here in some time, but I somehow feel responsible for not showing more support. I'm sorry. You two did an amazing job. I am going to miss this place

Yvonne, thank you so very much for the arts, they're amazing! I truly appreciate everything that you did for this board.

Szilvia, it's been such a pleasure, modding with you, fangirling about these amazing guys, and just talking about insignificant stupid RL things. I can never thank you enough for your generosity and love.

I'm so sad, and it's only now sinking in, that I won't have a place to gush about these guys, all the brilliant music they make, or you know drool over Gary's HANDS and analyse and dissect his amazing words, with you.

Thank you for making me a part of this board, of your world, and letting me make it mine too.

V, you know I feel the same way!

You've always understood my fangirling over these guys and their incredible music, oh how the music has touched us deeply and I'm sure it'll continue to do so.

I cannot thank you enough for being my co-mod, it's been an absolute joy and I'll miss our talks here very much.

And just so you know, if I ever meet Gary, you bet I'll be mentioning your love for his hands.

Thank you for all the love you gave this board with your interesting discussions and beautiful arts (love your current icon/sig combo!) You are a caring, genuine, wonderful person who I'm so glad to have met and worked with here...it wasn't work at all and I'm so glad the two of us got to moderate this wonderful board together.

Awww this was so lovely to read, I'm deeply touched, honestly.

Modding this board was nothing but a pleasure, I'll always treasure my time here. But I'll treasure the lovely friends I made even more, you guys are amazing.

I remember starting so many threads here almost as soon as the board got opened, those were the times.

We had some great discussions about songs and lyrics and everything related to this awesome band. So sad that it's come to this, but better to go out on your own terms.

It might be an idea to create an SP thread on the Music board, that would be a great way to stay in touch when the board closes IMO.
