On another board, someone posted a link to an audio interview with Katee where she says that, "as far as she knows", Starbuck is dead. That doesn't necessarily mean that the writers won't eventually find a way to bring her back to the show in a guest role and resurrect the character, but it does confirm that, for now, Katee's tenure on BSG is finished, as is Starbuck's part in the series.

I read something about season 4 being mentioned to Katee and she said she hadn't thought about BSG for awhile.

Nah... Katee is following the producers' lead on Starbuck's fate. She can't say anything that might reveal anything. But the way they (the producers, the cast) all talk about Kara/Starbuck's death, i feel like they could be talking about the character as she was before her "death". She could still be back, but it wouldn't be the same Kara we've all come to know. She would've accomplished her destiny, at least part of it and she surely wouldn't be so afraid of everything anymore... I don't know, I'm just trying to stay positive (even though I don't want Kara to change, but maybe that's better than her being really dead).

I'm gonna try to stay positive as well; I'm pretty sure that when Kara comes back she'll be different and it can be interesting

I don't think Kara's storyline is over quite yet, but the interview I cited confirms that Katee Sackhoff is now no longer a regular cast member of BSG.

Yeah you're right, that's why people think that if Kara comes back, it won't be full time. Frak.

Considering that she's been done shooting S3 of BSG for quite some time now I'm trying not to read too much into it. I'll just extend my stay in denial land, re-watch seasons 1 and 2 and cross my fingers that she'll come back.

It's gonna be one long hiatus

David Eick said something in a recent TV Guide interview about episodes 16 and 19 'shedding light on Starbuck's destiny' (not an exact quote).
