Jerry, they should do whatever it takes to put some good extra content on this last DVD set. I want full cast/crew interviews, maybe even a Ron Moore David Eick interview, retrospective stuff, cast party, and all the podcasts of course.

Ah, but it is. A lot of times, the additional time isn't broadcast, so DVR's turn themselves off. Quite frustrating if you ask me.

Alex, couldn't agree more, let's hope that NBC agrees with us.

Because of the extra 30 minutes (and the fact I hadn't checked my TV Guide), I ended up only taping half of the SGA episode and won't get a chance to record the full one until August 15th (I tape the encores because I tape the first runs of Monk & Psych - it just works better that way, usually).

Strider: I use a VCR and as Cryostar mentioned, folks with DVRs often miss as much as I do (like the extra 5 minutes of many Lost episodes or the time Gilmore Girls ran over 1 minute for no particular reason).

One other nitpick about super-sized episodes - it's not unheard of for repeats of these episodes to be shortened to fit a normal sized timeslot.

OK, For some reason I thought DVR's recorded it without interruption even if went over an hour? As I don't use one, I don't know, that was just me speculating.

I find that obtaining eps through alternative means is the best way to go

I can agree with that. Unfortunatly, DVR's and slaves to a system that has a lot of flaws, similar to that VCR code that they tried to make popular, so if the broadcast doesn't have the episode at being supersized, the DVR will just get the 1 hour slot, like usual.

Dukesmom, I feel for you, Dadelus Variations was an interesting episode.

So they will be out sometime in the summer of 2009? If S4 concludes in the spring of 2009...that way they'll have something for BSG fans in the summer/fall seasons.

Perhaps as early as May. If the final episodes start in January and run 10 weeks straight, it would end in March or early April. I would expect this movie to hit sometime close to that, before people forget about it.

Do you also believe they are going to release this BSG movie on DVD the following tuesday, as they did "Razor"?

Reading the motivation/interviews with NBC/Universal execs about this decisions..."Razor" did really well in DVD sales so it was part of the reasons they wanted more BSG movies.

Most definitely. Scifi channel loves it's DVD sales, it's like 1/3 of their revenue.

I didn't even know they did that until I picked up Razor (3 days later) after it was shown on TV!

Excellent, I'm guessing they'll charge 20 bucks (which is half a DVD season price!...)

You'll than likely find it for 15 at the start, but then it'll go up to regular price. Get it while it's cheap.
