Their relationship sure has changed since the miniseries. I can't picture Kara telling Tigh something like that during S1 and most parts of S2. Her reaction to Tigh showing up on New Caprica made it clear their relationship moved to another level. Not that I'm going to it friendship, but there's respect for each other IMO.

I think partly it was because they were both out of the military at that point. Kara tends to rebel against authority and Tigh seemed very strict military-wise so they were bound to clash. But on NC they could interact on a personal level more.

I also love the relationship between Bill and Kara with how he sees her as a daughter. They are really closed I've seemed that a few times

You mean when he shows up with Ellen on NC

But their relationship seems also much more laid back in UB, could credit that to the fact that Kara is out of the military at that point already or to the fact that they both aren't at 'their best'.

Favorite character is evidently Kara. Cause she is one of the most complex, fascinating and complicated character on TV IMO. She can both be very strong and very weak and has flaws that I can relate and emphasize with. She is what I would I would call the point of view from which I watch BSG, what I mean is I watch BSG through Kara's eyes and perspective.

What I love about her is that she is so unpredictable and is never boring. She is IMO one of those characters that has such a compelling presence that when if she was only in a scene in the episode, I would still notice her and wonder what she is doing.

Another thing I love about Kara and this is also due to to the enormous talent of the actress, Katee Sackhoff is that she has a lot of charisma and she also an intensity about her that I cannot take my eyes off her when I watch her. I mean by that she is a character that is like constantly on the ledge and is like constantly tempting fates sometimes. I don't know I find that fascinating to watch.

Also, there are many facets to her character cause she can be both cruel, thoughtless and act a bitch sometimes as evidenced in UB, collaborators, torn but I think IMO Kara is the most compassionate character on BSG, she is the one who is the most affected by the deaths of the pilots in scar, leaving people on Caprica namely Anders, she was also the one to hesitate to destroy Olympic carrier and only did it cause Lee fired first, she also is the first one who weirdly connected with Leoben of all people and prayed for his soul even though he was a cyclon. Another thing that I find interesting is that Kara is very religious but she hides her religion and she is not very public about it.

Also, what I also found fascinating is the ability of Kara to love and to hate with all her heart that is why the character can be so polarizing sometimes as she is a pretty extreme character and when she loves someone she loves with all her heart and when she hates someone she is pretty scary and it can get ugly. There is no in between with her.

What I also find endearing in Kara is her capability to get attached quickly to people in genaral for example Cain, Kacey, Anders, the Adamas father and son, Leoben, Helo, Boomer, Kat, those anonymous nuggets who have been dying since the beginning of the series and she would totally put her life on the line for some of these people.

But, Kara can also be one major kickass, cool and all round awesome character cause she is best viper pilot and her plans are always risky and unconventional at times but, amazingly it works three quarter of the time.

Another character trait I like in Kara is that she speaks her mind most of the time and can be pretty insubordinate when she doesn't like the orders she is being given, she smokes unabashedly and can drink anyone under the table. And can kick anyone's ass in a ring or in a fight most of the time.

She is just unapologetic about who she is and she totally feels like a genuine character. JMO. And I love that about her.

She is just awesome!

And, finally she has the most awesome facial expressions!

Totally agree with your post. Probably the thing I like most about her is that she's rebellious, non-conformist and not afraid to be different. Also love that she is loyal to her friends.

I probably would not be such an avid fan of BSG if Kara was not in it, or her character was different. I don't like some of the things she's done but after getting an understanding of her past and her character I can accept them. Really looking forward to what happens with Kara in the final episodes.
