Who is your favourite BSG character and why?

It's difficult for me to choose a favorite. BSG is one of the only shows where I like most of the characters. The characters that I always enjoy are Baltar, Starbuck, Roslin, Leoben, D'Anna, and Tigh. But asking me to pick just one character is like asking me to choose between my babies

Me too

So I'm finding this very tricky.

I really like Six (head Six and Caprica Six especially) although I enjoy watching any of her incarnations. I didn't expect to warm to her as a character but I've found she has a surprising depth and vulnerability and I love the way Tricia portrays her. It's a bit of a cheat as there are lots of versions of her, but she probably is my favourite

I also like Kara, Lee, Adama, Roslin and Baltar. Oh, and Boomer I'm really sad at how she's been sidelined.

Starbuck

I loved the original character back from the 1978 show when I watched re-runs and I love Kara now

Kara (Starbuck) is such a tough and strong character. She is hilarious and doesn't take crap from anybody. I just think its because she's such a independant character

I do like all the characters and at the same time they all have faults that are hard to accept sometimes. Why some faults I can overlook while others bother so much I don't really know.

But I identify with Kara ( Starbuck ) more than any other character. I probably would not be watching BSG if she was not in the show or was drastically different.

I can't take my eyes off Gaius when he is on screen. He shows human weaknesses in such a funny way and James does a fantastic job of portraying his every emotion. I like that he is having more and more altruistic moments. I think he is changing for the better, although he may never be beyond his weakness for women or his self interest.

With Baltar I'm never sure if he's sincere or not. I love watching him because I'm never sure if he's telling the truth or lying to himself.

With Caprica Six I was so surprised what she did to the baby in the miniseries. I saw S3 first and then went back to the beginning and as the series progressed she became more human. I didn't hate her when she killed the baby, although I probably should've, but knowing that she drastically changed made me deal with the baby killing action better.

I don't know if I'm right or wrong, but with the killing of the baby from the mini-series. I seriously think its was an accident

She walked away without any look of guilt so that made me think it wasn't an accident. And she was about to take part in killing every human so I don't see one baby mattering to her.

I do get about her having no guilt and about killing the humans. But she was so interested and I don't know

About killing the baby in the mini - I thought it was an act of compassion. She said something along the lines about they won't be crying much longer. She knew that the nukes were about to fall and I think she wanted the baby to go fast with no suffering. At the same time she was very cool about it, almost matter of fact, with no emotion. I think it showed the dichotomy of the cylon's nature.

Good point. Sort of put the baby out of its misery before the real trouble happens.

It's a though choice. I guess at the end of the day if I have to pick one it would be Bill Adama though

Kathy, I agree with you about Six killing the baby. I believe it was an act of compassion too
